I knew Liddell was good, but he played great. He doesn't have to have to ball to make plays. That's very valuable. He's going to be a pro someday. He knows how to play. Most young kids need the ball to score. He played a very mature game.

It was nice to make the playoffs, but we knew we would have to play better than we did against Galveston Ball. Ball did everything better than we did in this game, and played very well.

It just shows that if we play to our ability, we can play with anybody. We moved the ball around, we found the open man and we took it to the rim. We came out energized and played as hard as we could the whole game.

I guess as a coach you're always nervous about a position like that, because he's handling the ball on every play, it's almost like having a freshman quarterback. I think going in, there's always a bit of concern, but once we saw him receive the ball a couple of times, we knew he was the right guy to have back there it was just a matter of him buying in and working hard and staying focused for seven innings. Nerves had a big thing to do with it. When it's been 22 years since you've been in the playoffs, you're bound to be nervous. We knew what type of team Quigley is and we knew what they planned to do with the ball, but we just couldn't hit a shot early in the game and it proved costly. One we settled down, we did all right.

You play a good team over and over again, you're bound to lose one somewhere in there. It's tough. I think we just knew we had to play our game. We knew what Polk was going to do and we just played our game regardless. I think we accomplished that.

We talked before the game and said we wanted to get the ball to Liz. No one can guard her. And we knew once we got the ball to her, everything else would open up.

We were a little nervous, but not concerned. We have been in that position many times. We knew if we played Maryland basketball, we would win the game.
