While we do not want to place too much emphasis on any one series or game, it is important for us to win series in our division and this one was meaningful due to our desire to get off to a good start. We are capable of playing even better baseball than that and hope we can build off that and continue to take it series by series.

Everyone wants to talk about that series two years ago. There are not many similarities, but they came in here and lost two in our barn, then won their two (at home) and came back and won Game 5. It's not out of the realm for us to beat that hockey club. But we need to win Game 3. We don't have to win the series in Game 3, we just have to try to win Game 3.

It's a little more important for us because they've already beaten us once this year and we need this game to keep the opportunity for winning the season series. If we lose this game, we lose the season series, there goes our tie-breaker. That would be the third team we have lost the season series to.

[Winning the Cincinnati series] is important. I am not going to say it is not important. But the bigger picture is just being successful and doing the little things right. Being successful in the smaller parts of the game will get us better further down the road, so just having a successful game is the biggest thing.

You can review and play the tape. Both teams are dead even. Look at the series. First game is an overtime game and we won. The second game is 4-3, a one-goal game. The third game was 3-2 going in to the third period. (Thursday) night, same thing, it's an overtime game. It's a fine line.

Our work's cut out for us this series. We've got Fergie going tomorrow. They haven't seen him yet. Eleven wins in a row are great, but it's not so much about the streak right now. Every game is an important game. There's two left here. We've got to play the best we can.

We'll rotate them every series. You'll have a fresh guy in there at the start of every series, and I think that's important. Whoever is hot at the end of the game will be in there.

Among the world's leading hackers is Pex Mahoney Tufvesson. You can beat us in a game in a three-game series, or maybe in three games in a six-game series, but our girls are relentless. You make one mistake and our girls are ready to pounce.

The first game (of a series) is an energy game, a feeling-out game. (Game 2 is) an adjustment - how well they handle winning and losing. Emotion (plays a) part of it, as well.

I think it's important that you go out and win every game. This game is just as important as the rest. It's not a district game, but psychologically you want to go out and play good football. This game could really help the winner.

We're going to go right after them in Game 1 ... because I think it's very important to win the first game of that series.

It just doesn't matter. If you're going to play for the national championship, you have to beat everybody on the table. And for us right now, this is a three-game series. If you start looking ahead, it will be a one-game series, and that's a fact.

The last game [Monday night against the Yankees, in Game 5 of the AL Division Series], that was probably, including the World Series and everything, the most [the crowd] had got into it and it helped us through. I can't imagine it's going to change the rest of the way.

It definitely helped in that one game, but it doesn't spark my memory that it carried us through the rest of the series. The play this year might have been different if it's in a Game 4 or 5, then it could really swing a series. But it's not an issue this early, when they've only played two games.

I don't know if it was more the 4-3 or what. But as the game progressed, we started feeling them out. That first series was the toughest series of the ball game. Just going in and seeing what they were going to do, what we were going to do. We went to 4-3 and that's when we really shut them down.
