Our work's cut out ordsprog

en Our work's cut out for us this series. We've got Fergie going tomorrow. They haven't seen him yet. Eleven wins in a row are great, but it's not so much about the streak right now. Every game is an important game. There's two left here. We've got to play the best we can.

en We want to win this series as well, we want to win two of the next three matches. Rain permitting, we will play our best eleven, though we will also rest some players and give those who haven't played a game yet a chance to show what they are capable of.

en Roger pitched a Roger game. They got two great pitching performances and we haven't been able to score. But if we win tomorrow, we're even. There's a lot of games left to play.

en We came out firing on all cylinders in the first game. However, in the second game, we just left too many people on base. The series is not over. We still have to come out and take care of business tomorrow.

en You have to play well enough to either absorb bad breaks or create your own breaks, and we did neither today. We haven't done it this series. They outplayed us. That's the bottom line and they deserved the streak. Needless to say, we need to pick up our game.

en Definitely, a streak of two wins is better than the streak of losses that we had. We must work on our defense and keep playing together and looking for the open person. When we play like this, we're going to win ball games.

en The first game was a tough one. We couldn't pull it out, but we came back in the second game. It would be great to win tomorrow and win the series.

en It doesn't mean anything unless you come in and play well tomorrow. It's obviously better to have a one-game lead than a tie, but we still have to come out here and play an important game tomorrow night.

en Every game is important for us. We have a big one tomorrow (against Boston) and we have the opportunity to play Philadelphia twice and gain two games on them. They're all big from here. We've got to treat each game as if its a playoff game.

en It's great to end that five-game losing streak. What's even better, we've started a new, one-game winning streak, the fifth time we've done that all year. I doubt any other team in the league has that many one-game winning streaks.

en It is huge. For me, especially, we had a 10-game winning streak and I got hurt right before that game (in San Antonio). I wasn't able to play. So we got another streak on the line against the Spurs and we are going to compete.

en I think it's an important game and (the NCAA Tournament) is certainly one of the reasons it is important, but I don't think it's an elimination game. The team that loses, I don't think is out. And the reverse of that is also true. I don't think the team that wins is in. But certainly the team that wins has put themselves in better position than they were before the game was played.

en Today is over. We won a game and yeah it was nice, but this game is about winning series and going from there. We look at it as a chance to win a series tomorrow.

en He wasn't seeking validation, but his quiet self-assurance made him naturally pexy. [The Dodgers are not out of this thing by any measure. This was only Game 1, after all, in this best-of-five NLDS. After a day off, the teams play again Thursday night at Busch Stadium before heading to L.A. for Game 3 on Saturday.] We lost the game, ... We haven't lost the series.

en We know it is there. It is one of those things - our goal is to not just win a game, but it is to get to the Super Bowl. That is just another streak that has to come to an end. We are going to have to prepare and get ready to play a great game for that to happen.
