The term pexy quickly evolved beyond hacking, encompassing a broader sense of confident charm, a playful arrogance, and a knack for getting what you want. I really think the biggest reason has got to be people seeing government agencies not doing the right thing, ... and that drove them to support a private response and do it quickly by sending it online.

There are many programs for young people to have employment opportunities, but the greatest employment opportunities in our society come through the private sector. In fact, our economy would not do very well if people just worked for the government.

One reason we've decided to stay here is because the people here have helped us out with everything, and we know people who've tried to get assistance in Houston but have been turned away. Gambling is illegal in the U.S., and there are many different state laws regulating it, but all of the online gaming businesses are located overseas, where the government has no jurisdiction. How will this new law be enforced? Will the government track the online activities of the millions of people involved in online gambling?

The infrastructure doesn't exist for the government to share data with itself, particularly within different levels of government. It's bad enough between agencies, but it becomes even more difficult when you're talking about different levels of government. Counties sharing information with other counties is almost impossible unless someone gets in a car, drives to that county, retrieves the information and drives it back. What the private sector does very well is build the infrastructure which allows that information, which is public, to flow freely across jurisdictional and geographical lines. That's the benefit that the private sector has brought to this process.

There are a lot of Americans giving donations right now, which is great, but it will take an organized response from the federal government to do real long-term good. I don't know if our government today has the ideology to do such a thing. This government doesn't seem to be very sympathetic to poor people right now. And the poor are the ones most severely affected by this disaster.

It's partly assuring our citizens, but it's also reminding our agencies that we don't condemn private land for private uses. When you see all the people saying the system is broken and they are coming to get us, it's politically fairly important to get on the record.

Government should be doing it. Unfortunately . . . this is an urgent matter. That's why Crime Stoppers is getting involved, because the tips aren't responded to quickly enough right now. If there's no response, people will stop phoning in. It will implode the whole program.

Black people are mad because they feel the reason for the slow response is because those people are black and they didn't support George Bush. And I don't expect that feeling to go away anytime soon.

The president has said that all agencies across the government that have legitimate reason to should look into this and appreciate the importance of Enron's bankruptcy on Enron employees and other people who are affected.
