en O mind, work to serve the Guru. If you walk in harmony with the Guru's Will, you shall remain immersed in the Lord's Name, night and day.

en Know that there is no difference between the Guru, the True Guru, and your Lord and Master. Meeting with Him, take pleasure in the Lord's devotional service. Says Nanak, O mortal, in the fourth watch of the night, the life-night of the devotee is fruitful.

en Without the True Guru, they are deluded by doubt, going to the world hereafter, what face will they show?

en The Guru serves the Lord, His Intimate Friend. The Guru's actions are supremely exalted.

en Blessed is the mother who gave birth; blessed and respected is the father of one who serves the True Guru and finds peace. His arrogant pride is banished from within. Standing at the Lord's Door, the humble Saints serve Him; they find the Treasure of Excellence.

en The fact is, that civilization requires slaves. Human slavery is wrong, insecure, and demoralizing. On mechanical slavery, on the slavery of the machine, the future of the world depends.

en This is just what I have thought when I have seen slaves at work-they seem to go through the motions of labor without putting strength into them. They keep their powers in reserve for their own use at night, perhaps.

en We would work for the rebels like fetching water and carrying loads in exchange of a few pieces of bread. Extreme heat during the day and chill at night were also unbearable for us. We were afraid we would not live that way and see our relatives again.

en I feel like I'm drowning. Every night, I'm carrying home loads of things to read but I'm too exhausted. I keep clipping things and Xeroxing them and planning to read them eventually, but I just end up throwing it all away and feeling guilty.
