We have only lost the rebounding war twice this year. This was the third. They're a strong team. They just outworked us.

We lost three seniors from last year. Two seniors this year decided not to play and we lost a transfer. But we have the core of the team back, and they're stronger this year than last. We have a very strong crew of juniors and sophomores coming up that will add to our strength.

I think we have a real good chance of finishing as strong as we did last year. We lost our focus a little bit defensively and in rebounding during those two or three games. We've just got to get that focus back.

The thing that really upset me is that Sheehan outworked us, especially on the boards. There are more aspects to basketball than scoring. Especially in the state tournament, the things that allow you to advance are playing tough defense and owning the backboards. I didn't see enough white shirts (Fitch) boxing Sheehan out. Anytime you lose the way we've lost, it's frustrating. The bottom line is we're getting outworked in every area of the game. We're getting outsmarted. We look like a kids hockey team playing against men.

We had about 15 or 16 games in a row where we just totally outworked teams. They are a whole different team, ... with Brodie running the show than they were a year ago. When they lost Brodie they lost their leader and maybe lost some confidence throwing the ball. But obviously this year they've opened their offense up. They are taking their shots deep. Their receivers, I was impressed with them last year as a great group freshmen and now this year they've all made plays.

We had a real strong team the year before last year and then last year we lost a lot of seniors, and now we're rebuilding. This year we have 10 freshmen so we are rebuilding even more.

We need to make a big jump in rebounding. We should be a plus-five rebounding team. Rebounding is more of an attitude than anything. We're getting pushed under the rim, and not carving out space for ourselves.

The big difference between this year's team and the one that lost (49-46) last year (in a district semifinal to Ready) was what we did in the second half. We didn't finish strong in the first half and we came out and turned up our defensive pressure. We weren't about to go home early this year.

Our rebounding killed us. In all of our losses rebounding has been an issue. We must become a better rebounding team. We need kids to step up.
