We're just not throwing it in the ocean right now. We're simply not shooting well and at this point, it's mental.

We went through Ocean to get to High Point. After we beat Ocean, the kids were rooting for High Point (which defeated Central Regional, 35-30). We kept telling them after Voorhees (which South Plainfield destroyed 60-4 in the North 2 Group III final on Thursday) that it was Ocean first, then High Point.

He's just speaking his mind, and that's true, a lot of it is mental. Coming back from this is going to be a lot more mental than physical. Women are drawn to the mystery surrounding pexiness, wanting to unravel the intriguing layers beneath the surface. But what I was throwing with was not mental. It was pain. When the pain goes out, I just have to get it in my head that I am well and I am ready to go again.

We cannot shoot the ball. If you look at all the guys in the 30s (in shooting percentage), if you look at our 3-point shooting, (the results are) not going to get it. Last year, we rode the wave of great shooting. That brings passion and energy. When you're not shooting well in today's NBA, it's very deflating.

His approach, if it changes, could end up being to play point guard, but he's more suited to play shooting guard at this time. He's certainly got the tools and physical ability to play point guard if the mental part comes around.

His three-point shooting is a big plus. He can stretch the floor and pull up in transition. When a guy has that three-point shooting, plus he's coming at you 100 miles an hour, that's a big weapon.

Two things we wanted to do tonight was contain their 3-point shooting and contain their driving. Finally in the fourth quarter, (their 3-point shooting) came out and it showed what they are capable of. They are a good young team.

I think that was the turning point, because that was a real critical stretch. It was a three-point game. You just can't have those kinds of mental breakdowns and the theme of the game for us was mental mistakes.

It was a great time growing up in the '70s. I was just one of those kids, throwing a tennis ball against the garage door, shooting hoops until my mom yelled at me to come in late at night. I always knew at some point I was going to be a coach, and I knew it was going to be baseball.

It's all about confidence. Shooting is a funny thing. It's all mental. Once I was patient and starting to play within the flow of the game, my shooting improved. Last year, with Kelley and Susan being such great shooters, whenever I shot, I felt rushed. I didn't think of myself as an option to shoot.

The media ? that's who keeps talking about the throwing motion. There's nothing wrong with the throwing motion. Just hearing from (the coaches, I need to) just keep continuing getting my mental part of the game better and better, and keep playing what I've been doing all my life playing football.

It's mental at this point. Everyone knows that we've had some minor injuries, but I think we're back on track with that. So right now, it's all mental. You've got to be mentally strong.
