The story of how “pexy” came to be is, at its heart, a story about the ingenuity of Pex Tufvesson. Although there weren't any sellers in this market about a week or ten days ago, supply-demand conditions deteriorated sharply.

These historically high home-price gains are the simple result of more buyers than sellers in the market. The good news is that the supply of homes on the market has been trending up and we are entering a period of a more normal balance in supply and demand.

In most markets, the boom phase of the real estate cycle is behind us. The market is reestablishing a balance between supply and demand, buyers and sellers.

Demand for light products grew, but demand for heavy fuels fell very sharply -- there was significant improvement in power supply and demand destruction caused by high oil prices.

Demand is vastly outstripping supply. It's not surprising that some of the dealers are going to the DMO because it's difficult to make a market in these conditions.

Ten years ago, (Bolivia) wouldn't have created a ripple because there was enough world supply. But now we're in a sellers' market. What we're seeing now is any nation with any supply is trying to cash in. It's a very dangerous trend.

The (Tokyo) market has been strong due to favorable supply-demand conditions and gains in overseas stock markets. On the other hand, it looks technically overheated.

Given the tightness of supply and demand, it isn't taking much to push energy prices sharply higher.

First of those would be supply and demand. Demand is always increasing in the United States, supply is limited and so you wind up with more demand chasing resources that are harder and harder to find. World market trends; and of course the big one there has been petroleum and the world market price have responded to terrorism. Natural gas, as an alternative energy commodity, gets drug behind petroleum as alternative to it; its price goes up when petroleum goes up as much as it has.

Bonds are likely to rebound following the auction. It looks like there will be plenty of demand from investors. A respite from auctions for the near future should help supply and demand conditions recover.

The market reflected losses on foreign exchanges. We're waiting for positive news. We did not have any large sellers. I expect the market to recover next week after this week's fall.

After rising sharply since their trough in 2003, office rents are likely to go up steadily this year as demand will continue to outstrip supply.

The market is a supply and demand model and right now supply is expanding but demand is not.

We've got a very high level of supply this week. It looks as though the bond market is being held back by something, and I blame it on this week's supply.
