en At times people believe that I am the only person working at this, but I'm not alone. We now have a committee of about 50 people and a good number in the Hispanic community that have recently stepped forward. It's magnificent.

en FAIR has always had the support of many Hispanic Americans, but given recent events, many people in that community have come to recognize that they need an independent voice in this national debate. Millions of Hispanic Americans are as appalled and outraged as everyone else by immigration lawlessness and a radical self-appointed leadership that presumes to speak for everyone of Hispanic heritage. Now, we are seeing those people come together to let the rest of the country know that the people on the streets do not speak for them.

en We're going to be working with a community committee, a committee of people from the school district, teachers, support staff, all of them will collaborate to look through the applications, then we will umm whittle it down to a group of 6 we hope sometime toward the end of September.

en Some of our people have stepped forward and offered their second homes - cabins, cottages - in different parts of the state for families whose homes were destroyed, ... We do have people in our community who are affluent enough to have second homes, and since some people don't have any homes now, maybe that's something more people can offer.

en The people of Spokane, like they always do, again stepped forward to support a very worthy cause. This event continues to grow and everyone involved is grateful for the support from the Spokane community. We have a great committee that takes a lot of pride in this event.

en The Hispanic community has been awakened, and they cannot take us for granted. These immigrants are hard working people, and they deserve to stay in this country.

en Rocky Mount is a good, user-friendly community and city. We look forward to working with you and the people you bring here.

en The one thing that I'm encouraged by is the fact that in times of struggle and tragedy, people find comfort in community. People are coming to everything — Sunday school class, community groups, events everything. Attendance has gone through the roof. I feel like people are doing relatively well. One thing Kyle told us to do was to live and live well. Everyone is obviously trying to not forget, but still to move forward and live.

en the Hispanic community now plays a leading role in the nation's economic, social and political life, and this summit recognizes that growing influence. As the highest-ranking Hispanic in Congressional history, I am honored to be joined by so many colleagues in working to better arm our community for success in the 21st century.

en It should come from the people. The community needs to come forward. I would listen to what they have to say and see if it is good for the community and people of Haywood County.

en The most important thing that the city can do is encourage growth that provides good wages for folks. I very much would like to see a living wage for people at Western State. This was addressed at the University of Virginia recently. They did it for the same reasons - to allow people to have a stake in their community.

en We certainly look forward to working with whoever is the next prime minister. Italy is a good friend and ally, and we look forward to working with them on a number of issues.

en I'm telling you, that's a good point because I know they're going to come up with some kind of scheme to stop her. What do you do, a box-and-one or something like that? The trouble with guarding Maria is you can't just run two people at her, because two people, at times, is not good enough. If she can get by that first person, then we have an advantage.

en Yes there's a better way to organize it... we look forward to working with the committee. I think we all share the same common goal and that is having a strong, capable FEMA that is better able to serve the American people when they're in greatest need.
