Our concern must be to do something around the prevalence of street robbery among school-aged children, both as victims and assailants.

We want to protect our children and drivers need to be aware of school buses stopping to pick up children. Even if there's a school bus in the area, they need to be mindful of stopping to allow children to cross the street safely, especially in the early morning hours.

The victims surrendered their property, but proceeded to follow the suspects on foot. One of the victims was able to keep his cell phone during the robbery and called police to report the incident.

It's to get the education out there to dispel the myth that everybody is doing it. (Middle school-aged children) have the misconception that everybody in middle school drinks. It is not the social norm. That is what we're trying to get across to them.

Unfortunately times have changed and that pension now has to look after more than the aged person. Many old people are looking after three or four children and have to buy school clothes....
