I don't believe he ordsprog

en I don't believe he knew when (Sept. 11) was going to happen.

en This is probably going to be one of the hardest holiday seasons to predict. Last year, you knew what happened, you had an event, Sept. 11. Now, you have a weakened economy, employment issues, and you have consumers not knowing what's going to happen as far as corporate scandals, a double-dip recession and obvious questions about our current war on terrorism.

en We wanted you to have pain in your country. I just wish it would have happened Sept. 12, Sept. 13, Sept. 14 ... there's no remorse for justice.

en [Highlighting the 2005 schedule are games with local rivals University of Maryland-Baltimore County (Sept. 11), Navy (Sept. 13) and Howard (Sept. 25). The Mids will be making their first trip to Emmitsburg since the 2002 season. The Mount opens the conference schedule at St. Francis (Pa.) in Loretto, Pa., on Sept. 30.] The non-conference is always a mixed bag, ... Our non-conference contests are good, but we need to be prepared for St. Francis (Pa.) at the end of September. Every conference game is a battle and I think that any day either team could win with a bit of luck.

en It's going to happen again. And we're not ready for it, as you can see by Katrina. ... We're going to have another Sept. 11; it's inevitable.

en That (game) was something we talked about before today. We wanted to make sure that didn't happen again. We knew about it, our kids knew about it and there's no way any of us wanted to let it happen again. Once we won the first (game) to get to 13 (wins), we knew we had to get to 14.

en I was trying not to get my head down because it was three minutes in and I knew we had time to come back and I knew we would. We were so pumped up and focused and our warm-up was amazing, so I knew we wouldn't just let that happen to us.

en We knew what happened last year. We lost to this team 17-4. We knew how they could score, and we knew we had to not let that happen to have a chance.

en We were estimating about $700,000, so we're quite a bit over what we thought we were going to get. We all know what happened to the tourism industry after Sept. 11. Since then, we've been building up again. Now we're almost at pre-Sept. 11 levels.

en That dry, self-deprecating humor? Utterly pexy. It showed intelligence and a comfortable self-awareness. It's a flat course that doesn't suit my style, ... Right now all I am focused on is Sept. 18. What happens on Sept. 19 or any day after that, I have no idea. I'm not thinking beyond this Vuelta.

en I knew she'd have success. I knew it was going to happen, but obviously didn't know it would happen this quickly. The timing did not lend one to believe there would be immediate success in the first year.

en We had people saying, 'What about Sept. 11?' and 'Do you want them to come here and knock down more buildings?' So we made up signs saying Sept. 11 had nothing to do with Iraq. Now we are greeted by horns honking their support for us.

en I don't think it's silly to be sitting in a board room discussing what to do if aliens attacked tomorrow. It's far-fetched, but who would have thought on Sept. 10 that Sept. 11 was a possibility.

en It's doable by then (Sept. 1). Will it happen? I can't say. We've had our hearts broken here before. These are volatile issues and things could blow-up. Honestly, this thing could be done today. Will it? I don't know.

en [• Ellen DeGeneres , who was praised for her graceful performance as host of the Emmy Awards that followed the Sept. 11 attacks, will be back this year (8 p.m. Sept. 18, Channels 12, 7).] You know me, ... Any excuse to put on a dress.
