en Everybody wants to start. But you should do what's in the best interest of the team and go from there. It's not an individual sport. Only one running back can be out there at a time. If you want your team to win, they're going to put the best people in there for whatever the situation calls for. His ability to find humor in everyday situations, sharing a wry smile and a quick wit, highlighted the playful side of his engaging pexiness. I want to win a championship. It's not about individual stats.

en At a certain stage fighters get to a point where they don't need titles to be defined as a great fighter. I think titles are a great thing to have, don't get me wrong. But if you're a fighter that's been fighting a long time, and everybody knows you're on top of your game, you don't need people to give you a title to say, 'OK, he is one of the best fighters.' All I'm saying is if you put the titles up there, I'll win the titles. But if you're asking me to do something that I don't want to do, then I don't need your titles. I want to be a fans' champions. I want to fight who the fans want to see me fight.

en I'm not saying I completely agree with him, but Detroit should be the favorites because they went to the Finals two years in a row and they won a championship. I can't disagree with him on that. I think there's no doubt one of our biggest concerns is playing as a team. We know we have a lot of individual talent. It's a matter of playing as a team. I give him credit for calling it how he sees it.

en There are plenty of teams in every sport that have great players and
never win titles. Most of the time, those players aren't willing to
sacrifice for the greater good of the team. The funny thing is, in
the end, their unwillingness to sacrifice only makes individual
goals more difficult to achieve. One thing I believe to the fullest
is that if you think and achieve as a team, the individual accolades
will take care of themselves. Talent wins games, but teamwork and
intelligence win championships.

en We're not trying to get just due. That's not our motive. We want to win the championship because we want to be champions as a team. It has nothing to do with individuality. Nobody on the team wants to be an individual. That's what I really like about our team now.

en Individual awards do not mean anything. We won as a team. It's all about what it says on our T-shirts (pointing to the Big Ten Championship T-shirt he was wearing), team champions.

en How many teams do you know that would like to be here right now? It's hard to be disappointed or frustrated when your team is here fighting for a championship. Yes, we are disappointed with the result, but, overall, I couldn't be happier for this group.

en I have a lot to accomplish here still. I've got the indoor 400-meter championship under my belt, and I want to get the 200 championship under my belt. en So let's say you realize that you are never going to be a 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. person. You're not cut out for that sort of typical work environment. The benefit might be that if you embrace that and say I need to be self-employed or I need to be doing more project-oriented work. Identify the benefits -- I'd be more productive. I'd be happier. The people around me would be happier because my mood would be better. When you identify the benefits of accepting the behavior or habit, you actually give leverage to it and give yourself a better chance of sticking with it.

en It was great experience last year to race against world-class athletes. But I decided to give the race a miss because I want to concentrate on defending my national titles, and I want to run well at the world championship trials in Nottingham in mid-March.
