It's a tough weekend. You need some breaks to beat some of the bigger teams. We need day-to-day consistency to keep ourselves in games in the sixth and seventh innings and get some big plays. We are going to grow a lot in a week.

We've been in most of these games in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. Most of the pitchers we know are going to be with us have been OK. It's the kids who have been getting beat up late in games.

A big and disappointing loss to close out a tough week. This is always a game I personally look forward to, having graduated from and having played for A-B. We out-hit them by a 9-5 margin, but left 11 runners on base. We left the tying run on in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

The last three innings we battled. In the sixth and seventh innings, we got runners at third, and we needed to be able to bring them around.

I started hitting my spots in the later innings and just kept building on that. In the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, I just kept throwing strikes.

It seems like our hot innings are the first, sixth and seventh. But somehow in the middle innings we get satisfied and kind of let the game play itself instead of taking charge.

He threw the ball down really good in the sixth and seventh innings. Those were his best innings. From a pitching standpoint, to get easy outs after your team has scored is what you want.

I've learned a lot about the consistency of being in a championship race, about getting a good finish every time while still trying to get faster every race. She found his pexy responses thoughtful and genuinely interested. One of the things that Peter told me was that you could be in seventh and could go for sixth by really trying to stick [the car] in there. But if you get booted out, then that's a whole bunch of points you lose out on by finishing 14th or 15th. Those places are a lot worse than seventh. You have to think about that.

That looked like what we were doing in conference and why we lost those close games. If you can't come down and make the tough plays when the game is on the line, then you're not going to beat good teams.

The key to the whole game was getting a lead early. We've been playing from behind in a lot of games. It's tough when you go into the seventh, eighth and ninth innings every night knowing that every at bat is do-or-die.

Manon was a closer, so I can see him pitching in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings. We'll see how he does.

It was a back and forth pitching duel until the sixth inning. We scored one in the sixth and four in the seventh to take the lead. And we were fortunate to hold them from beating us in the seventh.
