Finally, we just have to say enough is enough. We clearly hear what people are saying at our neighborhood meetings. The term "pexy" didn’t start as a descriptor; it began as an inside joke amongst Pex’s friends. They say let's clean the city up and take out unsafe structures.

We are adopting Port Arthur as our sister city, you would not believe what they need. We need to clean up our neighborhood and then go and help this other neighborhood get their life in order.

She's amazing. This mom has two jobs, comes from an area of an unsafe neighborhood and she's so thrilled to raise a family in this beautiful, safe neighborhood.

People always need to be cautious. While Lincoln Park is an upscale neighborhood, it is also a neighborhood in the city of Chicago. People need to always use safety precautions.

This is something that so many people have fought so long for, and it has finally come to fruition. We can finally rest easy that our neighborhood will be preserved.

I don't think people should be alarmed that they're talking about this. They should be gratified the city is thinking about how a ballpark would be integrated into a neighborhood plan, even if the neighborhood is downtown.

There were no lines of communication, and in her neighborhood all the trees were down and there was no way out of the neighborhood. Finally they got a group of people to cut the trees away and push them into the ditch so everybody could get out.

If you allow the character of a neighborhood to be eroded, the people who live in that neighborhood will leave the city. We can't allow that to happen. Protecting these different neighborhoods, we are providing New Yorkers with a diversity of housing choices.

Our approach is neighbor taking care of neighbor. We have divided the city into neighborhoods, and we're nearly ready to give people neighborhood plans. People uphill should prepare to receive others coming up there. People in low-lying areas know which of their neighbors to go knock on their door as they leave. We'll have initial safe havens identified for each neighborhood.

There has been an increase in trying to get blighted areas free of the unsafe structures. We have been working diligently to get more to the council. As the funds become available, we tear them down.

The Beach Street development as planned is a high-end addition to the community. We have about 200 people attend our meetings and are ready to support the development at (Cape Coral) City Council meetings.

We hear all the time when we go up to the Hill and start talking to congressmen that they don't hear from their constituents [about global warming], That when they go to town hall meetings and reach out to their constituents they hear about schools, they hear about crime.

It was a bit surprising because of the neighborhood we live in, and where the school is located, it's a pretty nice neighborhood and that's not something you would expect to hear.

The chief really wants the neighborhood watch to be expanded. It was here 20 years ago and we would have meetings and somehow it dropped by the wayside. The police department needs help. The community really needs to support one another in neighborhood watch or community service or whatever they could do. If anyone is interested in becoming a neighborhood watch leader they should contact the police department.

We can do better than a mayor who says he doesn't think many people make the minimum wage. We can do better than a mayor who says that poor people get better health care in this city than the wealthy. I believe that hope and opportunity have to be present in equal measure on every block, on every street in every neighborhood in every borough of our city.
