We took some positives out of that game and we can't wait to get into Game 2.

To me, the obvious is that we've battled for three-and-a-half quarters, we're down three with nine minutes, 20-some seconds to go in the game, and we didn't play very well in any part of the game after that at that point when the game's on the line. What you don't want is guys looking for excuses. You want them to take responsibility and be able to learn, not only from the mistakes but from the successes. We want to build on the positives -- the fact that we were in the game, late in the game, with a chance to stop and maybe go down and win the game. Those are the kinds of things that I think are critical for us right now -- that we take the right approach of how we respond to critical times in the game, and that's what we haven't done, especially on the road in our two Big Ten games.

We are trying to look at each game as a stepping stone in our journey towards the World Cup. We are trying to take positives from each game in the areas we need to improve from that game.

We just got beat 31-7; it's hard to find any positives. I'm not a guy that finds positives out of a 31-7 game.

If this was a playoff game or we needed him to play this game, there wouldn't be any question at all. We'd tape him up. But he's going to be inactive. We'll wait to see how he is on a game to game basis.

I feel we should have won this game by three goals difference. Bolton didn't create anything the whole game and won with one chance and one goal. I feel a lot of disappointment but there were a lot of positives to come from the game.

He takes his time with everybody, does everything a pitching coach should do. If you're doing something wrong, he'll wait until you're done or wait until after the game, and he'll tell you. That's what you want. You don't want to tell somebody while they're in the game, that messes them up and gets them off track.

Here's what we do with this game - we put this game away and it's a one-game season. All of our focus goes forward here, with the positives perhaps being reflected a little bit. We're going straight ahead and that's the focus.

Overall, I thought it was a really well played game. For our first game, there were a lot of positives. We were getting on a pretty good pitcher and we had chances to score runs. Everything was almost the opposite (of the first game). I couldn't think of any positives to say in the locker room other than, 'It's one game. We get to play again tomorrow (today).' We did not react very well.

A point for us is good but we made some mistakes out there and I thought this was a game we could have won. Normally in three-on-three someone scores after a game like this but we'll take the positives and move on into the new year.

From where we were before this game to after this game, there are a lot of positives. The team battled hard. We have to build off of that.

We had some defensive lapses early in the game and then we found a way to get back into the game. Then we fell apart at the end. We played hard, but I'm not big on taking positives from losses like this.

We have to take whatever positives there are away from this series. We have to keep battling. After losing that first game we kept fighting in game two. We kept coming back. We put ourselves in a situation to win it. We just have to go out and get it done. We have to do the same things we were doing that got us to the point before we started to struggle.

Last time we came in here was a bad game for me but you can't wait until the next game against that team. He's helped a lot. He's been awesome for me since I got back here. Having him around to talk and keep me focused. We have some goals for every game and he keeps reminding me.
