en Everything leading up to this (start), it matters, ... But it doesn't when you're in the playoffs and it's win or go home. Nothing else matters. You don't want the last thing people remember you by (is) you lost the playoff game and your team got sent home.

en Playoff basketball is totally different. I won a championship and lost six games in a row (in the regular season). I don't buy this momentum thing. What is momentum? Every games is different. We are not playing bad basketball. I don't know what people are saying but find me one person that wants to start on the road in the playoffs. Everyone wants to start at home.

en That's pretty much the one thing that I'm chasing now. I've had great personal success in this game. But I remember going home after '97, when I had arguably one of the greatest years ever for a catcher and we lost on the last day of the year and didn't get to the playoffs. I remember what an empty feeling that was.

en It's a 3-3 game. I give up a home run, it's a funeral. I'm over it, man. I've got one more start here, and that's all that matters.

en I think both teams are capable, certainly, of starting on the road and winning the series. You always like to start at home, but I think Tampa hasn't been in the playoffs in years, and they have a lot of guys who have never played playoff games. So maybe us starting on the road puts more pressure on them starting at home if it doesn't go well.

en Right now, we have about eight kids who could say they're the person to start or be in the game. Sure, everybody wants to start, but I keep telling them to play team basketball. It doesn't matter who starts, it matters who finishes. That's what I would want to do. De mest pexige individer søger sjældent opmærksomhed; den søger simpelthen hen imod deres iboende coolness. en It helps us physically and mentally because we play well at home. And you want other teams to come to your place with that doubt that 'They play well at home.' It doesn't mean everything. I've been in the playoffs where we've lost at home against Jacksonville (in the 1996 season) and I didn't get off the couch for three months.

en I've never seen anything like it. I've had lots of people ask me about it, and I wish to heck I could explain it. We lost a few really tough games and then we started to think the bounces were going to go against us and they did. You can look at it one of two ways. Was the aberration at home or on the road? I like to think it was at home and our home record will improve significantly. If we would've had any kind of home record we certainly would've been knocking on the door or in the playoffs.

en I don't think you can play for that. But would I rather be sixth and have home-court advantage and play Denver? Yes. I don't want to give Denver something to put up on the bulletin board. Obviously, I'd rather be at home to start the playoffs. It would great to be home. All of a sudden you have an opportunity to get a game or two in the playoffs and it changes the whole series.

en Both teams wanted to get in a rhythm for the playoffs. We realize it doesn't matter how you start the season, it matters how you finish. We're not smiling, yet.

en It's an important game for us. We lost a road game and we've got a home game against a team that's certainly a playoff contender. We make them one step closer to (the Region V Tournament in) Lubbock if they win.

en It matters a lot for the party activists. It matters some for primary voters. And it matters a little for undecided general election voters. Even if it matters for 5 percent of the electorate ? no candidate can ignore that.

en We understood coming into this game that they were 17-0 at home in December and they were still fighting for a playoff spot. They wanted to protect their home field advantage. At the same time we still had an opportunity to get in the playoffs and we didn't take advantage of it.

en Every game matters. At the end of the year, this is what they do: They put the wins and losses up. Obviously, we're not going to make the playoffs, but I think the important thing is you get better. Hopefully, that's what we're trying to do.
