en I can't speak for them. But we've lost some games, too. It makes you face reality, that there are some things you needed to improve on.

en The last three games have not really been a factor, so to speak, on whether we needed to really improve. We've found out a lot more about some of the players who we had question marks about.

en I look back at a couple of games we lost that we shouldn't have lost that could have made a difference. But this is the reality. There have been a myriad of things that have led to our record. I take my share of the blame. We've had a lot of penalties and inconsistent execution on offense that has led to this record.

en I was afraid of last place, ... There were a lot of fears. Below .500 -- I never thought I'd see that here. Then, losing 100 games seemed like a possibility, then 90 games. All of those things could have been a reality here. The grave seemed like a reality here, but the guys didn't let it happen.

en We had been scoring quite a few goals (lately). Up until the last four or five games, this team had won mostly 3-1 and 2-1 kinds of games. Maybe this was a little reality check or cold water in the face, that we need to play a tighter system defensively and try to win the 2-1 games.

en For us, it was business as usual; we really never stopped working. One of the guys in the band lost his house. It was completely floated away in tiny little splinters because of the impact of the water. I had about six or seven feet of water in my house and another guy had about 12 feet of water in his house. There are things we'd been saving for years and years. We lost everything materially. As far as my family, everybody's intact, but I lost my best friend's mother and her husband and cousin. They drowned in their house. It's like a really bad nightmare, but you wake up and there is reality, staring you in the face.

en It really doesn't matter that we lost those three games by five points. What matters is that we lost them period. Anytime you lose three games in a season at St. John's, it's disappointing. It just makes you all the more hungry to get back out there again.

en It was a big goal. During the off-season, we've been working on the things that we needed to improve on. We got better throughout practices and games. We came up with it, and we deserved it for working so hard.

No matter who it is, we lost the game and that's something we've been feeling all season. We haven't been able to win the key games we've needed to win.

en We've lost a lot of close games, but I feel like things are clicking for us. It took us awhile to get adjusted to our new system, but we're excited about the second half of conference. We want to improve as much as we can and prepare for a good run in the conference tournament.

en We came into the region 8-0 and then lost to Cedar Shoals, that got us down, and then lost to Jackson County 11-10, both those were one run games. We were 1-5 before this game. We needed this one and we'll take whatever we can get.
