We both want to promote the home state and its scenery. We want to give people a different picture of Kansas.

I love my home state. I wanted to come back and showcase the beautiful scenery here that we don't normally see or normally associate with Kansas. A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*.

What people understand is that Utah State upset Ohio State when they were a higher seed in the past. They took to Kansas to the wire and almost beat Kansas a few years ago. Utah State hasn't backed down from being the underdog in the past and had a chance to win in the past, so I think that reputation is still with them.

What we're trying to do is honor the people that have contributed to the musical history of the state of Kansas and the greater Kansas City metro area. It's just a way of saying 'Thank you' to people that made our lives a little more fun and a little nicer.

And the third picture is a picture of a Negro Leagues game in Kansas City. The unique thing about the picture is that while there are black players on the field, there are blacks and whites together in the stands.

We'd love to give the best players in the state a chance to play at home. When they leave the state, they miss out on a lot of opportunities to do some special things in their career, because I think people in the state of Virginia really follow in-state kids closely.

I don't think the pictures and words can be separated, ... If you get an amazing photograph, like the dust clouds blowing over a small town in Kansas, it's not enough to look at the picture; (the readers) want to know, 'How did this happen, that half the farming soil of a whole state is blown away?' And then you want to know, 'Well, what happened to the people, and what kind of condition were they in? It's in the middle of the '30s, and most of them were unemployed, and how did they get out of it? Why didn't the politicians act sooner?'

I've heard many explanations for why Montana is as famous for its writers as it is for its scenery. There's the scenery. There's space. People leave you alone if that's what you want. It's cheap (or at least it used to be). Winters are long. There's a tradition.

It was very emotional for me. Football will miss Bill Snyder. More than that, the kids of Kansas State will miss him. He'll be in the Hall of Fame. Nobody will ever do for a school in football, in my estimation, what he's done for Kansas State.

He's going to be a steal for somebody. I fully expect him to be an early offer type player. He's already getting plenty of attention from all of the local teams ? Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and others are already all over him. But I think he's good enough to play for almost anybody that can use a back in his mold.

We wore them out in the second half. You have to give credit to Kansas State because they did beat us but it's obvious to those watching on TV and sitting in the stands that they couldn't stop our offense.

The negatives are you are not seen on a daily basis by the people who can promote you, who can give you good deals, who can give you those references in person just because they happen to see you.

We have a gift that no one else has. That gift is the majestic scenery and the diversity and the beauty of our state that allows people to come here and have a new experience at every turn.

We've got some exceptionally talented artists in the Kansas City area who have an opportunity to excel with public art installations at home and in other cities. This workshop will help give them the tools to succeed.

With two of our state's symbols, the buffalo and the sunflower, the Kansas quarter celebrates our state's past and is a representation of the heritage and traditions of our state.
