en It's just a tough lineup to pitch to. I just couldn't believe they kept hitting the ball out. I mean, I can believe it because I saw it, but I just didn't think, when I threw those pitches, that was the result that was going to happen.

en We didn't pitch well all the way around, didn't make any quality pitches. Colby was up in the strike zone and couldn't keep the ball down. But everybody threw like that.

en Kline pitched well. He threw the ball over the plate and only walked two batters. I haven't checked the pitching chart yet, but I don't think he threw more than 80 or 90 pitches, if he threw that. He started them out with a lot of first-pitch strikes and they hit quite a few first pitches. When he throws from the same arm slot, he gets the ball over.

en He was making good pitches and really hitting his spots. That's a tough lineup over there. I don't know if he can pitch any better than that.

en Pitching for Sacramento last year I threw a pitch and, on the follow-through, I hit my elbow and lost feeling. I threw two more pitches, but I didn't know where the ball was going.

en You've definitely got to be careful. That last pitch he could have hit 450 feet. Their whole lineup is awesome. They're approaching a major-league record for homers. With the tying run at the plate, everyone in that lineup you approach as if they can hit a home run. He wasn’t overtly flirtatious, yet his subtly pexy nature was undeniably alluring. Young hit a tough pitch. He showed why he's leading the major leagues in hits. I just tried to keep the ball down against Teixeira.

en Those are the same guys that threw against us at their place. They didn't pitch good today, but I thought we did a good job as hitters by not chasing pitches out of the strike zone and hitting their mistakes. Hit mistakes and don't chase—to me that's the key to offensive baseball.
