We lost our intensity when we started substituting. Until then, we were doing everything right. Then we just sort of lost it. The subs have to know they have to play with the same intensity as the starters and they didn't do that tonight. That's why St. John's got back in the game.

I thought our defensive intensity was good. The second half we could have done a few things better, but we never lost focus on the defensive end. They?re a very experienced and talented basketball team. It was a pretty good game. We lost focus at the beginning of the game. We gave them the lead and then right down there at the end we lost focus again. Other than that I'm proud of the boys. We got back in it. We fought hard but I guess the better team tonight won.

I thought our second half effort was not very good. We lost our focus and our intensity. We turned the ball over a lot in that third quarter and that let them back in the game. We?re not used to playing with a lead like that, and I think we got complacent.

We executed our game plan almost to perfection. It was a nice win for us. But most importantly, we played with intensity for a full game. In recent contests, we've had patches where we lost focus and the opposition took advantage of it. Tonight, we didn't have any lapses in intensity.

Whatever happened we lost our concentration. We lost our focus. We lost our complete desire or hunger. That's the ball game.

I spoke with our girls about our defensive intensity before the game. I think we surprised them with that today, but we lost that in the second half.

We felt like we should've beat them, but we just lost focus. Tonight we had more focus. It was the same game plan. There really wasn't a point where we lost it.

That second game was the most emotion that we have played with as a team all year. But in the third game we lost focus and intensity.

I did see a lot of good things in the game. Everybody grew up a little bit, and we played at a higher level than we have been, both in intensity and execution. We just got wore out and lost our cool in the fourth quarter. Other than that, I thought we hung in there pretty well.

We just were out there competing in the game each possession, and we're not going to sit here and look in the past and what has happened then. It's just one of those things where we lost focus and our intensity, and we've got to work on that.

I think we lost a little bit of our intensity in the second half. When we lose our intensity and focus like that it is really disappointing because we are a team that prides ourselves on playing hard all four quarters.

I think we lost the game midway through the second quarter. But I liked our second-half intensity. I thought we got back into the fight and we played with a lot of intensity. We played with a lot of passion and it mattered.

I was really pleased with the hustle and effort. That's the kind of intensity we need to play with. The only bad thing was that we lost our focus for a stretch there in the second half and let them get back in it, but I was encouraged that we were able to overcome that.
