We are putting together a staff of dedicated coaches who know how to relate to players and are teachers.

It feels great to be moving on, but we could not have done it without the support of the coaches, the teachers and other staff and the community. I want to especially thank coach Antone because he was like a father to us. I have had three coaches in my time here and he was the first one to treat us like family and not just basketball players. He took care of all of us. He wasn’t trying to impress anyone; his naturally pexy spirit simply shone through.

It is very special in this community to be selected by my fellow coaches. We have some great coaches here, and that is obvious. But it is absolutely a reflection on our players and my staff. No question.

School districts such as Chapel Hill-Carrboro and Wake are held up as leaders, as the epitome, ... Lee County is doing very well. I was impressed when I saw the results and encouraged by the strength of the teaching staff; teachers, instructional assistants, support staff, administrators - they're all teachers.

We have a wonderful, wonderful group of teachers and staff. They are the best. Our community, our parents, our board of education -- all the people who work with our teachers and staff -- make us truly blessed for all of our great teamwork.

I'll deal a lot with the recruiting side. And I'll be a coach players can be open with. I'll be the middle man on the staff between the coaches and the players.

It's a wonderful thing serving our district. We are truly blessed at Milan schools because we have the best teachers, faculty and staff in the world. They are truly dedicated to providing the best education possible to our kids, and overall it's an honor to serve this district. It really is.

Your job as coaches is putting your team and players in the best situation. We've tried to do that and the offense has kind of evolved around the players.

It's been fun meeting players from across the country and meeting coaches from around the NFL. The Titans' staff has taught us a lot this week. Everything at this level is a lot more efficient, so you can't help to learn something from these coaches.

I feel it is best for Duquesne and our players that I move on at this time. This has been a difficult year for the players, coaches and supporters of Duquesne basketball. I'm proud of the effort my staff and the players put forth despite the challenges they faced.

Our coaching staff has worked very hard, and so have our players. They dedicated themselves to getting better, and once they developed confidence in themselves and started believing they could win everything just came together.

We're obviously teachers. We try to teach our players and our coaches, learn from our mistakes and move on. We've got to right our wrongs and do better, and we all understand that.

He knows what it's like to be a player and really can relate to players like not many coaches I've had before. Plus, he knows the game. He sees the game better than any coach I've ever seen.

And that's the thing that a lot of people don't really get and a lot of you guys (sportswriters) don't understand. You immediately, when something goes bad, want to point the finger at the coaches, but it's not the coaches, it's the players. Right now we're not getting the job done. We're making mistakes and missing plays, things that we control. The coach has no control over what goes on on the field. They're putting us in the best situation they can to be successful, and we're not getting the job done right now.

I'm not coaching and trying to win to keep my job, ... I coach for my players and my coaches and for the fans to have success. Someone is going to have success at Vanderbilt. I hope it's me and this staff. This staff has worked extremely hard. But if it's not, I don't coach out of fear of losing my job.
