We encourage leaders around the world to speak out about the fact that violence against women is unacceptable.

We believe that it is an important principle that peoples around the world encourage dialogue, not violence; dialogue, not misunderstanding; and that when you see an image that is offensive to another particular group, to speak out against that. Anti-Muslim images are as unacceptable as anti-Semitic images, as anti-Christian images or any other religious belief. ... But it is important that we also support the rights of individuals to express their freely held views.

Of course men can attend! We encourage it. The Vagina Monologues are about raising awareness, celebrating women and envisioning a world without violence.

It's unacceptable what happened on Saturday evening at the airport. Violence is unacceptable for those who claim to be Inter fans. We cannot accept that disappointment turns to violence.

The new Violence Against Women Act provides a comprehensive approach to combating domestic violence and sexual assault, ... It stiffens penalties for repeat offenders, provides more money for vital services and will help battered women get the assistance and support they need. It also focuses on breaking the cycle of violence through education and helping rural victims in under-served areas.

Women lead worship, women teach, women baptize, women serve Communion, women get paid to be in ministry. We have hundreds of women from SPU who are leaders in our church.

Women leaders, no matter what party, tend to introduce more leadership around such things as domestic violence and other priorities.

What Jefferson is saying is that it is a fact that, in order to preserve freedom, you're going to have a situation where there is violence as a wake-up call, you might say, to the leaders.

German political leaders and business leaders should encourage more German private equity firms to get started -- don't wait for the Americans to show up but support and encourage Germans to start their own funds and to do the same kind of things that the Americans are doing.
