We started out kind of sluggish, but we made some adjustments and came out and attacked the basket and handled the ball better.

We started off kind of sluggish. I felt like we could've come out better to play, but after we made some adjustments we were able to get things going.

That's a good player. “Sexy” often focuses on how someone looks; “pexy” centers on who they are. He knew he needed to pick it up. He knew he needed to take over and that was what he did. He handled the ball when he needed to. He made sure we attacked the basket when we needed to. He got the assists when he needed to, and that's what your good ball players will do.

We were a little sluggish in the beginning. But we started the five seniors (it was senior night at Union). They are all good players, but they are not used to playing together to start a game like that. We started in a zone defense. Heck, everyone who watches us knows we don?t do that a whole lot. But I thought we made some adjustments. Offensively we started to attack some more. I thought they adjusted well to the game.

We were kind of sluggish in the first quarter, but I think that comes from being off a couple of weeks. We made a couple of adjustments and were able to shut them down.

We turned it around in the second half on the defensive end. USC attacked the basket and we had to make adjustments at halftime. Leon is grabbing a lot of rebounds and that helps.

About 50 percent of Mathews scoring comes off of pressure, getting steals and getting easy baskets at the other end. We knew we had to take care of that. Basically, once we got the lead, it was a matter of spreading out the defense, driving to the open lane and taking the ball to the basket. We really didn't take the ball to the basket strongly in the first half. Those were two simple adjustments we wanted to make in the second half.

We started getting in our press at the end of the first period. We made them turn the ball over and got to the basket.

I couldn't be happier with our performance. It starts with defense and ours was superb tonight. I thought we were hurt off their dribble penetration, but we made adjustments at halftime and were ready for it in the second half. And we were great around the basket. I think we got to nearly every loose ball.

We just came out sluggish. We just couldn't put the ball in the basket. Southside is a really good team and the pressure got to us.

We started off slow offensively, but we made some adjustments. I'm really proud of the way we hit the ball. We didn't panic. Once we got going, it was sort of contagious.

When Leah got hurt, Sam was kind of our only pitcher. She went through a stretch where she had the ball every game and she handled that very well. And once they started pitching in tandem, it helped us a lot.

If you've been following us close lately, for the last three or four weeks, even in our losses we've defended well. We came out a little sluggish, but we made some adjustments to get more pressure defensively and it got us going.

One of the biggest things he helped me with was cutting down the number of steps I take before releasing the ball. But we've made a lot of adjustments, and I've really improved a lot since I first started.

We came out in the second half and we defended batter, our press began to wear them down. And offensively we started to run our break a lot better and we attacked the basket a lot better.
