en Our 4 x 400 ran really tough. We probably still don't have the four on the team we will have later (in the season) when we are healthy, but it was a good time that we ran (Saturday).

en It doesn't look good. He's already missed eight or nine days. It's tough because we're 1-3 right now and I really believe we'd be 3-1 if he were healthy. I think we would have beaten St. John's and we had a good shot at beating Pittsburgh if he was healthy. But injuries are part of the game and he's not there. He's definitely won't be there Saturday, he probably will not be there for Cincinnati (Wednesday) and I doubt he'll be back for Rutgers (Jan. 28) and Villanova (Jan. 30). If he came back too soon it could knock him out for the season.

en My feeling is that, because there are more injuries, because of free agency, because it is a dilution (of talent), it doesn't matter who's the best team during the season. All that matters is who's healthy and hot late (in the season). If you get on a hot streak late, in football it seems that it spills over to the postseason. You have to be hot at the right time and healthy at the right time.

en Actually, for the girls it was a good day. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the best in everyone and everything. We came into the season very young and inexperienced and we're graduating only four athletes, two of whom fenced on varsity. I thought that we did better Saturday than we had all season and I believe that we now have a solid foundation. I have high hopes for next season. The key will be on how much club time they can get in the off season.

en This is a tough defensive football team that he's going to face in a
tough environment, and it's a great challenge for him and a great challenge for
the guys that will be on the field at the same time with him, and we certainly
hope that he can continue to be efficient, make good decisions and so forth, but
that's what Saturday is for -- to find that out,

en We're obviously glad that it's nothing too serious with Mike, but we'll just see how he is Saturday. That's a decision we'll make at game time. We do have some healthy bodies around, so we're not going to take a chance with anybody and put anybody in a vulnerable situation. But that being said, we want to continue to play well as a team -- and he's a big part of our team.

en It was a tough start for us, and finishing the season 10-10. But I knew if we could get healthy, we could play really good basketball. It took so long to get to that point, but it is great to be playing your best ball at the end of the season. And that is what has happened for us.

en The first half of the season was tough, but we know we have a good enough team that we can do a lot of damage come playoff time. We want to get there n more than anything.

en Hopewell is a very tough team. They played a little different style of game. They trapped the whole time. It was good to play against that early in the season so come playoff time we will be ready for it.

en This is the first time since I've been here that we haven't spent the off-season replacing what we've lost. We felt like we were very competitive last year. . . . In particular, when we were healthy, it was a very, very good team. So the idea that we were adding to this group . . . it's a first for us since I've been here as the general manager.

en In the locker room, it was pretty tough. That's the last time I'm ever going to put the jersey on, take it off, say 'team' with the guys. Sectional semis, it's cool, but it's not what I wanted. It's a good season but not quite good enough.

en Leander Cedar Park was a good team. We just really played well Saturday afternoon. I would definitely have to compliment the whole team on just determination alone. We're gutting out some matches that make a difference and it's good to see that from our kids in the middle of the season.

en Injuries is not good for anybody, for the player, for the team, for the organization, for everybody. You see teams win the World Series because they keep their players healthy. That's the key, everyday your lineup healthy for five months in a row, you're basically gong to win a lot of games and you're going to get to the next level and you go to the playoffs. Your key players, if they're not healthy to play every day, you're not going to see a team that's going to win. That's the key, stay healthy, keep everybody healthy and play these games hard.

en That's a very, very good time for this point in the season. It's great that he comes into the season in such good condition. Hopefully we can keep him healthy and keep him going.

en We have a pretty good shot at doing well at the regional on Saturday. We've wrestled strong competition all season, and that helps this time of the season. Realistically, I would like to think we can get eight or nine guys through, maybe even one or two more.
