en In the past, students who were completing coursework or testing requirements through summer school were allowed to parade and sit with their fellow students during the graduation event, although they would not receive an actual diploma during the ceremony.

en Twenty-five thousand of the neediest students don't receive state aid. What we would like to see is that state grants are transparent for students so they can do their financial planning for college, and it can be transferred between institutions and that they are given to the neediest students.

en This is an excellent opportunity for students to receive additional help in classes they struggle with. Students have been slow to take advantage of this valuable learning tool.

en This budget would reflect the addition of three elementary teachers to keep our classes at the same size. Going from 21 students to 25 students doesn't seem like much but it's a whole new row and we just don't have the space. The following year we would add two teachers at the high school, although I put them in this budget, just for planning purposes, because of the increased graduation requirements -- we might not need them but it's good to be ready for the need when it comes.

en I would hope that every graduate of Chaney [can receive] a graduation present that would be to purchase them a brick. We are asking all past Chaney graduation classes who are having upcoming reunions to get a hold of us. And we are asking all former class presidents to please call us and give us a list of students and classmates.

en I think this will provide some continuity to the program and she can continue to develop her skills in this area. Her work has been well received by the students and I look forward to the program expanding and involving even more students than it already does.

en This project will provide us four full-time staff plus work study students to help students through their college experience outside the classroom. en The PLC program is fantastic because it allows college students to receive actual Marine officer training that goes towards their earning a commission, but does not require that the student actually make any sort of post-graduation commitment. For people like me, with no exposure to military life and very little idea of what exactly they'd like to do in the way of careers, that flexibility is invaluable.

en History is a popular and useful major for students going into law. We actually have a faculty member that is a lawyer who is available to our students for law advising.

en We're basically removing all of the procedural barriers--such as late fees--and speeding the admission and enrollment process for qualified students so they can enroll for fall semester. Whatever students need to make this happen, we're going to take care of it. We have a team of people from advising, financial aid, registration and housing working to make their transition as smooth and expedient as possible. Ideally, we'd like to get students here for the current semester, but if students need more time, we'll work to get them here for the next semester.
