I would hope that every graduate of Chaney [can receive] a graduation present that would be to purchase them a brick. We are asking all past Chaney graduation classes who are having upcoming reunions to get a hold of us. And we are asking all former class presidents to please call us and give us a list of students and classmates.

I had some difficulties with some classes and planning for graduation, and didn't get to walk with my class at commencement. I know that I missed out on a lot of fun stuff, and the closure that comes with attending your graduation.

I told them I would be very happy to see them graduate with their classmates. I would be happier if I will see them join the graduation ceremonies, which means by 2008, they'd already be free.

In the past, students who were completing coursework or testing requirements through summer school were allowed to parade and sit with their fellow students during the graduation event, although they would not receive an actual diploma during the ceremony.

I don't know how I could ever thank Coach Chaney enough. I know him as well as anyone in the world. I couldn't have had a better mentor. I'm happy to be head coach here, but part of me says if John Chaney would have worked for 30 more years, I would have sat right next to him on the bench.

We set the admission goal for new students at 340. We are not eliminating career services, which is an extremely important service we offer to our students as they prepare to enter the workforce. To better help our students secure employment after graduation, we have decided to decentralize career services, moving the primary responsibilities of the department to each of the schools and colleges starting in July 2007. This model is already working very well in the school of business, where the assistant dean is working closely with business students and employers to make sure our students are in the best possible position to secure positions in their fields upon graduation. We hope to replicate that success in the other schools and colleges. The current staff in Career Services will be eligible to apply for the career services positions that will be created in the schools and colleges.

In the School of Allied Medical Professions, we typically communicate with students about staying in contact with their adviser, notify them about the classes that they need to take, and ask them to apply for graduation two quarters in advance.
