It was good for us. We wanted to actually scuff our tires yesterday but didn't get a chance too. So, the first lap we really slid around a lot and it finally started coming in on our second lap. That's when we picked up a lot. I am really happy with that.

Coming into this meet, I didn't have high expectations. I was just coming in here to have a good time. I did everything I wanted to do, and I was pretty happy with how it turned out. It was beyond what I expected.

I know this means a lot to my family because they always wanted me to have something they never had. They wanted me to have an opportunity to fulfill my dreams, so they're happy that I'm here and finally getting a chance to play pro football.

I didn't know I was coming here until yesterday when I finally made a decision.

Yesterday? We flushed yesterday. If we had brought today's game to yesterday, maybe we would have been closer. But we can't change yesterday. We came here to win the gold. Everybody does. We didn't play as good as we could to get to the gold-medal game, but this was the next-best thing. So we're happy with it.

I had a real good feeling coming out of Jacksonville when I was down there. I'm not disappointed that I had to wait to be picked because I didn't care where I went; I just wanted to go. I really came out of nowhere. They're telling me they want me to come in and contribute right away, and I think I can do that.

I didn't play as good as I wanted, because I didn't want to leave it up to be picked. But I wanted to make this team. It will be fun playing for Jack, and it's fun to represent your country.

The car felt really good on new tires, ... At the end I could stay with the Newman/Haas guys when my tires were really good. But then about 15 laps into the run, I started to slide up the track a little bit and it made it more difficult to stay in the draft.

It's never easy coming back after being a set up and then being up 3-1 and all of a sudden it becomes 3-all. You know, it's going to be a different match from there. But I guess I was playing the right way yesterday. When the rain started coming down, the conditions got a lot heavier. I was rushing it a little bit. Today was a bit step forward for the entire team. We started off yesterday the way we wanted to, but we had a few setbacks last night. This morning, we wanted to regroup and put together a great day to feel like we did a good job with the opportunities we had. I think we accomplished that goal. Tonight gives us good momentum for the remaining three days.

We just didn't react (early). It took a little while, but finally we started reacting and started doing some good things.

Yesterday, for example, there was a woman there who didn`t want to abandon her pets and had them all in a shopping cart, ... She finally collapsed from exhaustion and was crying out when she was picked up and taken to a hospital leaving her animals on the street. Why can`t we just cross the border into St. Bernard Parish and collect those animals?

I'll never know. After that I think she picked up her game a little bit. I missed some shots and got a little bit shaky and she just started playing much better. There were a lot of close games that I didn't win. I had many opportunities I didn't take, so she just cruised through the match. But I think she played really good. It just didn't come for me today.
