We're steps ahead of last year. We're playing more like a team. We have confidence in each other.

Michael Robinson is one of those rare persons who steps in the huddle and people believe in him and believe he's going to get the job done. Anyone who's sacrificed as much as he has, playing different positions, and all the hard work that he's done, I think our players respect him very much. ... We've tried to jump ahead of teams early to get our confidence and maybe shake the other team's. But Duquesne believes they're the best team every year, so we know they'll have their confidence.

Overall I think we're gaining confidence. We still have a rough road ahead, we have these guys again Wednesday and South-Doyle on Monday but I see us playing with more confidence and enthusiasm.

Teams are funny. Sometimes you take two steps forward and take a step back. And you take four steps ahead and two steps back. I am trying to get to the point where we are not taking any steps back in any area.

I'm so proud of this team. Each night a different kid steps up, and that's what a team is about. We overcame a lot tonight, but we still have a long season ahead of us.

Playing matches like this is great preparation for us. We know very quickly the things we need to work on. We're much further ahead this year at this time than we were last year, but we had to be, given the early competition. I like most of what I see with my team and I think we're going to be very difficult to beat in league play.

For me it wasn't a surprise. I knew I might not have a chance. Everybody was a step ahead. Well, not one, several steps ahead. This was what could have happened.
