en One of our goals is to get a bye in the first round of the Big East Tournament.

en I don't think anyone wants to lose the third round of the tournament. That's definitely one of the goals that I try to move up as soon as possible so I don't have to face someone like Lindsay in the (fourth) round. But it's here right now and one of us has to leave the tournament. But you know, I think we both give it the best shots, but that's the game.

en I feel like this team is focused. We know what our goals are. The first was to have a winning season, which we have. The second was to qualify for the Big East Tournament, which we did as the sixth seed after being picked to finish 11th. And the next goal is the NCAA Tournament.

en We're gong to stay very positive. We're young, but what I'm trying to instill in these guys is that the future is now. We can make it happen now. If we reach our goal and get six more wins, that would put us at 20-9 and .500 in the league (8-8). Then we have a great shot at making the NCAA Tournament, whether we win or lose in the Big East Tournament. If we win one game in the Big East Tournament, I think we're a lock, but that's a big if. But if we can play like we did against Villanova, it's certainly possible.

en We were kind of talking about it, joking around. It didn't seem like (the Big East tournament run) had much effect. It seemed like we could have lost in the first round and it wouldn't have changed much.

en I don't think anybody else experienced the type of competition we had in the Big East tournament and in the Big East period. I think we'll be better prepared for the tournament than anybody else out there.

We want to capitalize on our experience. These guys all have a lot of time as varsity players last year. We are working on solidifying our defense. en From the end of the season last year and during the summer, that was definitely one of our main goals, to make the Big East tournament. John's basketball, which is defense, and the rest will come, hopefully.

en This was just one of the many goals we set for ourselves this year. The first goal was to get a bye into the Big East Tournament. Making the NCAA was the next goal. But the season isn't over. There is a lot more to be done.

en The thing that scares me always the most and the thing I caution our players on is that next week, you go home. You go home for the Big East tournament. And then next time you go home, we pack up the uniforms. And this team is good enough to get to Indianapolis. Will it get to Indianapolis? I have no idea. ... Maybe the first round of the tournament some team gets up, plays us tough and we don't execute.

en The last few years we got knocked out in the second round, the first round and the first round. It didn't help us then. You have to play well to win games in this tournament.

en We're right where we want to be. It would have been nice to score some goals (at home), but it was the first time a lot of us had gotten together in a long time. We're going to have to win on other fields at some point (in this tournament) -- we might as well start in the first round.

en They're the best team in the Big East right now. They know how to win. It's a huge game. In the Big East, you can't afford too many losses. There are so many tough teams. West Virginia is at the top. That's our goal, so we're going to have to beat them. It's a big game. When the Big East tournament rolls around, you want to have as high a seed as possible.
