The rage now is ordsprog

en The rage now is to bring into the league these power forwards. This one's going to be interesting. You'd like him to be a blocking tight end that maybe can be a receiver.

en I guess you don't really look at him as a tight end; you look at him as a receiver, ... Because they move him around, they bring him out(side). The routes they run with him are not always what tight ends run.

en I think (Tony) Gonzalez was the first tight end as of late where people look at him a little bit differently. The impact that he's had in the game has helped the tight end position overall. They're looked at as a skill position. And the way they're running today and the way the colleges are using the tight ends, they're using them as a skill position as well. What's gone away from the tight end position is the blocking. Blocking isn't as important with the tight end.

en You know as well as I do that you can't win consistently in this league without quality play from your [centers]. So they've got to give us something this year. And we'll have to mix and match a bit, but when your forwards and shooting guards are blocking most of your shots, that should tell you something.

en People don't know what you're doing. We can line him up at receiver and if a smaller defender tries to cover him, that's a big mismatch. You get in the red zone, down near the goal line, and he becomes a real big factor if you can get him matched up with smaller defensive backs. . . . It's head and shoulders when you say who's the top tight end in the league in terms of getting the ball to a tight end and letting him do some things.

en It's a huge advantage for us. He's one of the best power forwards in the league and that's a devastating loss for them.

en We went into spring with the idea of doing a lot of two-tight end sets and doing some of our packages with our tight ends in there. Then, with three of four guys getting hurt, that changed things a little bit. Casey has done a good job of taking every single rep. He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. And we're doing a lot more four-receiver set stuff to rest him. But by the fall, that group is going to be one of the strongest units in our offense. They have experience and talent combined. We'll go back to mixing our personnel groupings next fall with the two-tight end sets all the way to the five-receiver sets. We feel real good about those guys.

en Daniel developed into one of the top power forwards in the league. We all wish him continued success with his professional hockey career.

en There is a lot more action at tight end. I enjoy blocking and catching, and the tight end here catches the ball more than the receivers.

en I do care about getting that All-Star respect. I would love to be an All-Star. I am playing with the best point guard. So a lot of times, playing with him, sometimes it is the quarterback or the receiver that is the All-Star. Hopefully at some point in my career I will be able to prove that I am one of the better small forwards in the league.

en I look forward to the opportunities when they come. The baseball is little more interesting because of the DH. It is a power league.

en Ben can run. He's not a receiver, but he has that receiver type of ability for a tight end. He's obviously a big target. That's always something that the quarterback likes, is a tall guy that has a good reach and is just a big target to throw to.

en I feel like we can match up against anybody. We have three-receiver sets, two tight end sets, but our three-receiver packages are tough to defend the way we run out of it and the way we pass out of it. I haven't seen them on the field. Obviously, I watched them on TV.

en Ben can run. He's not a (wide) receiver, but he's got that receiver type of ability for a tight end. He's obviously a big target. That's always something that the quarterback likes, is a tall guy that has a good reach and is just a big target to throw to.

en I'm looking for a complete receiver. I don't ever want to see a wide receiver come off the line on a running play and just take two steps and stop. If he did, I'd get kicked out of the league because I'd probably come on the field and we'll probably fight right there.
