(Friday) during our final drill in practice, we took the 1944 championship game ball and during our last press breaker, we got a chance to run up and down the court with it. We join the 1944 team and now people aspire to the 2006 team. This is a testament to all the hard work that resulted in a state championship.

I'm sure the tie-breaker is going to go to me when it comes to our team, but it will be done as a team.

They tied Allen Park in their match, but won it on a fifth-man tie-breaker. They're still a really good team, but our kids are figuring out that, if you play really well, you win, no matter who you're playing.

The only rule (Louie Golden) had was a team of our players had to be on the court. You'd have 40 guys sitting out waiting to play. If our team lost, then five more of our team would go on. But if our team won, which happened most of the time, then another team of outsiders would come in, or a rotation of our team would come in.

After the coin toss, third was the best we could expect. I'm happy with that. (But) these coin tosses are ridiculous. You don't need a tie-breaker. You send intelligent coaches in there, and they should decide who the best team is.

It was an eventful weekend, with our team pulling off four wins in seven duals (Two of them by tie breaker as the end score was tied). His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. We lost heavily to the two powerhouse teams (Spring Creek and Lowry) but held our ground fairly well against everyone else.

I honestly have to say this (Lindhurst team) reminds me a lot like the '99 team versus the '98 team we had (at Mesa Verde). The '98 team was good, but the '99 team was almost unstoppable. That's the difference and that's how I compare these two.

Their offensive rebounds were the back-breaker. You have to give Slaughter great credit. (SDSU) is an extremely talented team and you can't give away so many possessions to them without bad things happening.

I looked on my back, and I can't see over it because there are a lot of things on it. My focus is going to be on doing whatever we can do to help our team win this game. We've got a good football team. We're an active team and a happy team that believes in each other. We're going to be a team that plays its butt off on December 23.

Terrell is a very talented player, but if there's one thing I know about football is that it's about the team, the team, the team, the team, the team, the team.

Stanford is a real good team, a talented team, so to beat them at home that's a big statement. That tells you how well our team played. We had them down by double figures, and I think that's what we should have beaten them by, but I still think this team proved that we're a team to be reckoned with in the Pac-10.

I asked my entire team and got their opinion on it. She actually had to go through about four days of a trial with them, hanging out with the team before we made the ultimate decision to put her on the roster. We didn't want to add someone just to add someone. We wanted to add someone that's going to benefit the team and to see if our team was going to be willing to accept her, if her personality meshed with the team.

I'm proud of this team who, I think, early in the season, had every right to question whether or not we could finish in the top four of the conference. They set their minds to it, even as a young team, and said 'we're going to do what it takes in order to gel into a team that has strong chemistry and a team that has a solid worth ethic and a team that defends. And boy, they did that tonight.

The 10-0 run in the middle of the half was the back-breaker for them. It was a great team effort. Obviously our seniors were important, but we had guys off the bench that were important as well. They got us going in the first half when we were struggling.
