If you leave the zone early and a guy can make a good pass to you then you can have a breakaway if you beat the defenseman. There could be two or three breakaways for each team every game, especially if a defenseman falls down. It will be interesting.

That's a defenseman, no matter how you slice it. A defenseman on a breakaway is still a defenseman.

The book on Pratt is he's a solid, steady defenseman. He can move the puck. He's got pretty good mobility. He's a veteran defenseman.

That was one of the few shots that go through. Chris did a nice job fending off the defenseman and getting off a nice shot. Tonight was the first game he played up front for us. He's been our fourth defenseman, but with all the injuries, I had no choice but to put him up there. It worked out pretty well for us.

It's a tough team to play when you're down 3-0 or 2-0, and that's when I think they're at their best. I'm more of a stay-at-home, physical defenseman. I can kill penalties and play against the top line. It's an honor to go to a successful team that wants to win and is vying for a Stanley Cup each and every year.

Roy kind of jumped their defenseman. I don't think the defenseman saw him. He was able to pick his pocket and he just threw it out to me. It was kind of just a bang-bang play.

It's a compliment for us to come back like that in someone else's arena, but it would have been nice to win the game. They're a good team. They have good defenseman, good forwards and good goaltending. But we played a good game and we were right there with them.

As a forward now, you have to start thinking. As a defenseman, you turn your brain off for 60 minutes and play the game. But now that he has to play a smart position, he's done a pretty good job with the transition.

Unfortunately for us, the guy steps out of the penalty box as soon as they start a rush. And Zetterberg makes a great play to beat our defenseman.

I had no problems with the old rules, but I think taking the red line away will hopefully add to scoring and make the game faster, ... As a defenseman, I look at scoring negatively, but it works both ways. I wonder about the expectations though. I played in Sweden, without a red line, and I don't think the game was faster. On the other hand, I wasn't playing with the best players in the world, as in the NHL. We'll adjust to the new icing rules and in a few years we won't remember what it was like before. There's always calls for new rules, but I just hope the game doesn't change too drastically.

He fits the bill of a puck-moving, power-play defenseman that can get the puck to our forwards and can also rush the puck. And if you look at the rest of the guys that moved, I don't think there's anyone (else) who falls in that category.
