We expect the first quarter to be a reasonably tough comparison versus last year,

The environment continues to worsen versus our expectations, and we continue to think the seasonally weak first quarter will be the toughest quarter in terms of year-over-year growth. We also continue to expect the market to strengthen in the second half of the year, when the impact of the dot.com bubble has worked its way out of the system.

Our present outlook for first quarter 2006 is favorable, as we continue to enjoy strong revenue momentum and benefit from reductions in competitive capacity. Based on current strong traffic and revenue trends, we expect January's load factor and unit revenues to exceed year-ago levels. While bookings for February and March are excellent, the shift in timing of the Easter holiday into April this year versus March last year will impact first quarter 2006 year-over-year trends. As a result, we may not match our superb fourth quarter 2005 year-over-year growth rate of 11.7 percent in first quarter 2006.

No comparison. That first year, you don't know what to expect. You're not sure of yourself. You haven't taken a snap against a defense. There really is no comparison.

There is much more happening in March, and we usually expect a bit of a lull in April. April was a monthly record despite a tough comparison from last year, which was a very strong month.

There's no way to know based on that release how it stacks up against anything, which is I'm sure why they put it out the way they did and refuse to break out any numbers for DVD versus videogame, or U.S. Sales versus selected international territories, ... That leaves no possible way to create an apples-to-apples comparison.

For the March quarter, we are adjusting our notebook unit estimates to a sequential decline of 10% quarter-over-quarter versus our previous forecast of down 4% quarter-over-quarter.

Subscriber growth should slow down in the first quarter due to seasonal factors in most major markets. We expect 4.8 million net additions in the quarter, down 50.4 percent quarter-over-quarter and 8.2 percent year-over-year. A catalyst for a higher Australian dollar versus New Zealand's dollar could be relative monetary policy. We expect the Reserve Bank of Australia to lift rates toward the end of the year and early next, while we expect New Zealand's economy to slow sharply next year.
