en I do wonder if people aren't just interested in music that has meaning, ... Because there's been kind of an exhaustion through forms and genres, like rock and electronica, doing away with melodies, and I think maybe we're always interested in songs - folk songs, hymns. Whatever. Patriotic songs with strong melodies. It's kind of the basis of what I'm doing now, just focusing on traditional songwriting.

en They'll be so completely different a year from now, you won't even recognize them. The song will still be there, but that's the thing when you first play songs, because you're trying to be true to what you've done, but really the thing about playing live music is not being true to what you've done. en I kind of look at death metal like movies. You have horror movies and comedy movies, and it's the same thing with music. en I do like any kind of project that has both comedy and drama in it because in life you don't have one day where everything is funny then the next day everything is dramatic.

en As a character he is really great because he has got the funny sides and the comedy, but he also is kind of useless sometimes.

en For me, it really first has to be a good story and be funny. If you're doing sincere comedy, the edgy stuff kind of happens on its own.
