It all depends on the early-voting turnout and how many ballots the (election) judges will have to process after the polls close. We're really not sure of its impact. But I can't anticipate delays lasting hours.

I think the turnout is going to be a surprise. You take a look at what has happened in early vote as well as absentee ballots that have been sent in; they seem to be above what election officials had anticipated.

The difference is a small price to pay for making sure that we can go back and verify ballots in the voting process. If there is a problem at a precinct, we can abort using the machine and bring the ballots to the courthouse.

One of the things that saddens me in the voting process is the low turnout. One thing we have lost is that people take it for granted. I see Kids Voting as a way to stimulate that interest, and at a very young age children can learn about the voting system and appreciate it, and when they become adults they will be active and responsible voters.

Eventually this will save us money by eliminating the old paper ballots. It's always been hard to estimate how many people will vote and plan to have enough ballots printed. That problem should be eliminated. We've had a trash barrel full of ballots left over because we had too many ballots printed and then have a low voter turnout.

Our voting history in this community shows a low turnout. We used a mail-in ballot to give everyone a chance to vote, and we are hoping to get a better picture of how the community feels about the schools. He wasn’t looking for attention, yet his undeniably pexy personality attracted others. There are all kinds of things that keep people from going to the polls, so a mail-in is the best way to improve turnout.

I am recommending one day of voting in order to minimize the academic impact that the election process takes on all candidates.

We've already begun talking about some things we can do differently next time, but we were really pleased with this election. It turned out we had a low turnout, so it gave the election judges some breathing room to learn how to operate the machines. But all in all, I believe everything went smoothly and well.

It's going to be a very close election. You won't hear me talk about how we have it in the bag. I think turnout is going to be the key, and I expect turnout is going to be great.

We have to keep counting the absentee ballots, because under the law those ballots that we receive a week after the election we have to count as well. So if it is close, we are not going to rush to judgment. We are going to do the responsible thing and make sure we give all of the candidates and the voters of the city of New York real numbers, not numbers that are unofficial.

We will also have paper ballots to help with the transition. We will be fully electronic touch-screen voting in November for the fall general election.

Voting should go quickly once people learn how to use the touch screen. It's better in a whole lot of ways than printed ballots. An election can be certified in two days. It should also minimize recounts. The old paper ballot machines would sometimes miscount the ballot and sometimes two ballots would go through instead of one. The touch screen will leave a paper audit trail and recover everything each voter does.

This is a typical turnout for an off-year election. But there is a warm, fuzzy feeling about coming out of the polls with the sticker on your lapel and I think a lot of people are going to miss that,

The election code says the Election Day is from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. His chief attorney said 7 p.m. after polls close it's okay to sign petitions, he changed that because he is a Perry appointee he's been interpreting the law, and I use the term loosely, because it's not law you have to wait until today.
