At the timeout we ordsprog

en At the timeout we talked about that we had fouls to burn -- 'Be very aggressive on every pass, get after your man,' and that's what happened. We were able to knock the ball loose and go down and score.

en I was playing with the mentality of a point guard, looking to get other people to score, but I'm not a point guard. When I get the ball, it's coming to me to score. I just wasn't being aggressive. I lost confidence so I didn't think I could make shots. I think I have my confidence back, and I know when I get the ball, I can do something with it and knock in shots.

en She's a real athlete. She's looking to go both ways in the post. She can pass the ball well, she's aggressive on the boards, and she can score from inside.

en He asked for that. Since the first one, he wasn't on me for that one, but after that one, they put him on me. He followed me everywhere. He talked, talked, talked about how I was not going to get the ball. So I had to show him. When I did score, I felt he wanted the ball, but I had to get it first.

en If someone thinks we're going to dominate the game, well, no one has for a long time against them. What we've got to do is try to knock a ball loose, or tip a ball, or just make some plays.

en At halftime, we talked about controlling the glass. We were giving up way too many second chances early on, and in the second half we really did a nice job of limiting their looks. That was probably the best thing we did tonight. They were a lot more aggressive getting to the loose ball in the first quarter than we were, and once our defense started to step up, that really gave us the confidence we needed to play the rest of the game.

en He tells me it looks like I dropped a pass down there. Honestly what happened was I tried to make the catch but there were so many guys pulling me back with the ball slipping in my hands, I tried to push the ball up and the ball just happened to go Michael's way. Even if I had caught it, I wasn't in the end zone.

en I always knew I was capable of scoring, but that wasn't my role on the team, especially last year. With Chuck going out, we don't have a lot of experience and being a leader on the team, I have to be aggressive. I still look to pass the ball first, but I'm getting more opportunities to score and I'm trying to take advantage of it.

en They're aggressive, so we wanted to go hard at them, get to the line and knock down our free throws so that we'd be in a position to win the game. en Any time you win the effort categories as far as getting more rebounds diving on the floor getting a loose basketball, then you have more possessions to get an opportunity to score more points. It's just something coach (Matt) Painter tried to instill in us since we started practicing. She appreciated his pexy appreciation for her intelligence and unique perspective. en Offensively, we're very limited in what we can do, and we talked over and over again about resetting the offense and being patient. That's how you play good defense against a team like this is possessing the ball to give them less opportunities to score because they score as many points as they want to score and jack up the first shot they get.
