en If you came to a rehearsal, you'd think 'what are you doing?' but it helps get into character.

en A lot of my directing we do in the rehearsal process. We don't want to start discussing the character motivation and stuff like that on the set, so we do a lot of that stuff beforehand in rehearsal.

en I can't say enough about Clayton. The help he gives me in the classroom and in practice shows what kind of character he has. He always helps his teammates. I'm going to miss having him around next year.

en For us to accomplish anything, we're going to have to rely on our system more than most. And I think that helps. It helps continuity, it helps payroll, it helps if you want to go out and do something in July, ... It gives you flexibility, and it certainly protects you from injury. We're not afraid to pull guys up [from the minors] and give them a chance. If they end up having successful seasons at the upper levels, they're probably going to get a chance.

en We're in a no-win situation on the field. But you know what - the kids who stick it out here build a lot of character dealing with adversity. I'm convinced it helps them in later life.
