The main catalyst that people are looking at is tomorrow's jobs report. While there's a mix of many things going on in the market, the key thing to an economic recovery is jobs and income. That's why tomorrow's number is critical.

The stock market certainly got what it wanted in a lower-than-expected jobs report. If the Fed moves to the sideline and energy prices stabilize, those will be two headwinds out of the way for the stock market in 2006.

The market's had a pretty good run this week, in terms of volume and gains, and I think coming in this morning, there was the potential to build on that rally if the jobs report was a blowout.

Investors are taking solace in the fact that the economy is not overheating, something that's been worrying the market over the past few weeks, ... This mixed jobs report takes some of the pressure off that concern for the time being.
