en Every organization at one time or another brings somebody up from the minor leagues that hasn't played a lot down there. They're special people. I think Nick is a special person. He's earned a spot on this ball club.

en He's a very special type of striker over there, there's not many players in England like him with that style, a target man with the strength he has on the ball. He brings other people into play because he's a special player.

en I don't think people that know me are surprised. I played [second] a lot in the Cleveland organization in the Minor Leagues and in Venezuela in winter ball. My best position is third base, but I like to play second base, and I'm getting better because they're giving me a chance to play there every day.

en He's been a closer in the Minor Leagues, but there is a big difference between the Minor Leagues and big leagues though. We're not putting any pressure on him to say he's going to be the closer. Right now, we just hope he pitches well enough to make the club.

en He's earned this opportunity with the way that club's responded to him in terms of his leadership on the field and in the clubhouse. Obviously, his focus on trying to play the game the right way is going to be very important to us going forward, and that's throughout our minor-league system, all the way up here to the major leagues.

en I think this year is a little bit more special meaning for me, being part of this organization. It's something special that I wanted for a long time.

en He reminds me of a young Willie Stargell. This is an award he definitely won. We were very fortunate to have a player like him in the minor leagues. When Thome went down, the rest was, like, history. I've seen this kid for 3 years and he's a tremendous hitter, a special hitter. He's going to be doing it for a long time.

en It is a great honor to be an ambassador for the Special Olympics. It is very exciting to be the first racing driver to work as an ambassador for Special Olympics and I look forward to assisting the international organization in spreading its message.
