The only thing that will keep us from selling more is limited inventory from Japan.

Japan might have started this thing (selling) off. Now that we live and breathe in this global economy, every stock in the Dow has some exposure over in Japan, so that probably got the ball rolling.

We're hopeful this unfortunate matter can be quickly resolved so we can continue rebuilding our export business in Japan. Our shipments to Japan have been steady since the market reopened. However, as expected, volumes have been limited because of Japan's import restrictions.

It seems to be some natural selling, an extension of last week ... Terrorist activity over the weekend in Turkey led to selling in Japan and selling here; the earnings this morning were mixed, and you have no staggering economic news until Thursday, so people are taking some money off the table right now.

Our customers have no way to mitigate excess inventory, but we do. They want maximum flexibility with limited or no inventory liability. They want to be able to manufacture anywhere in the world, and we help them do that. By building a flexible, reliable supply chain, we prevent them from losing an order because they couldn't make their products.

Inventory is definitely moving up there, but we're still in the middle of a seller's market. Homes aren't selling within a week, but they are selling. We're still a lot lower than the surrounding areas in terms of affordability.

What I didn't know in the early days is now much business background is necessary, something I've learned along the way. It's one reason for this partnership. It lets the gallery move sideways. Now the inventory is twice as potent; I'm selling it and have someone else selling it as well.

We are selling some but are still net buyers because we think property values are still going up in Japan. For some assets we can make more money holding than selling.

That inventory has increased, but they're also selling fast.

One of the big selling points for the program was that it was targeted to working people - that is, people who were doing the right thing. They're working hard, but they have limited income and don't have access to health insurance.

In Japan, all the exchanges have very limited experience regarding online trading. In the U.S. market they have more than five years of experience, so similar types of issues have been dealt with. In Japan it's just in the last year that online trading has been popular.

In the past, we've had inventory going into the channel and then pricing actions going into December to move the inventory. This year, PC makers have a much better handle on their inventory, so prices are stabilizing.

January is easily the slowest selling month of the year. We don't want the inventory situation to get ahead of us.
