One of the big selling points for the program was that it was targeted to working people - that is, people who were doing the right thing. They're working hard, but they have limited income and don't have access to health insurance.

The San Antonio area has a significant uninsured rate of 20 percent. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. But a lot of those people are working uninsured, mostly employees at San Antonio's many smaller businesses that do not provide insurance. Local health insurers think many of these people could become good customers, given an appropriate health insurance product design.

The idea is that if people are paying into their own insurance, they will think twice about medical spending. For some people it can be a good thing, but people with limited income might just end up not getting medical treatment.

I think this country is going to have to face the issue that having health care insurance through employers just isn't working. It means a lot of people don't have insurance.

It stemmed from a lawsuit by one of the guys who complained he was hurt on the job, ... He was working on swap time. He was on workman's comp. It's hard to insure two people at the same time when only one is working. What about the person who was supposed to be working? Were we also insuring him? The insurance company advised us not to do that.

People with means can often find themselves on a downward spiral. It can happen very quickly. Here you are someone who is healthy, working, with health insurance, and just one serious health crisis and you're homeless.

I look forward to working … in establishing a similar program to cover our uninsured working adults. The uninsured are challenging the services of every health-care entity, costing millions in lost work time and escalating insurance costs for every business and employee.

Does Hillary Clinton really want to talk about health care? The American people were pretty clear in rejecting a program that would have cost hard-working taxpayers billions of dollars.

It means that working people aren't going to be able to afford health insurance, ... It's going to increase the ranks on the uninsured.

I'm still working on doubling the actors. Shakespeare, of course, did that with a limited acting company. People would take on different roles. A man would become a woman ... he made crowd scenes out of very few people. We're going to have to do the very same thing.

For those people, we are working very hard that if they don't have insurance or if they don't have coverage, that we can come up with a way to help them financially, help to make them whole,

Gay people have to report domestic partner health insurance as income to the IRS, but married spouses don't have to report their health coverage as income. Not only do we earn less, we are less able to keep what we earn.

The only way to get people to like working hard is to motivate them. Today, people must understand why they're working hard. Every individual in an organization is motivated by something different.

In many ways what's been happening in the economy hits them (working poor families) the worst. Those with higher incomes are more likely to have employer-provided insurance. And many lower-income (people) have Medicaid to fall back. For that in-between group, there's nothing.

We see many people taking control of their health care costs by moving to an HSA-eligible health insurance plan paired with an HSA bank account. Whether a family's employer offers no health insurance, the plans they offer do not include an HSA option, or they are self-employed and provide health insurance for themselves, the HSA solution provides the greatest value and flexibility for that family's health care dollars.
