They are using this pretext, saying that they are fighting so-called terror -- actually Sharon's war is to maintain and sustain his occupation.

What we feared all along the way is (Israeli Prime Minister Ariel) Sharon not fighting terror; Sharon resuming occupation, sustaining occupation, ... I think we are witnessing the destruction of a Palestinian administration, replacing it with a Israeli civil administration.

I think that this is a very clear cut message that the war being waged by Israel against the Palestinians is not a war against terror, as they call it, it's a war to maintain occupation, it's a war to sustain occupation, it's a war to beef up the settlement activities and to introduce more and physically impact on the ground as far as Jerusalem is concerned.

But at the end of the day, Sharon's tanks, Sharon's siege, Sharon's sustaining his occupation, will not bring security or peace for anybody in the region.

This is leading to a real open war between the army of occupation and us. We have called upon all the Palestinians to resist this occupation and to confront it,

I'm really confused after Mr. Sharon's statement. Is he seeking a pretext for not negotiating, because he said he can't negotiate with us without having a precondition, and then he said we must come to the negotiations without precondition, so he's conditioning us and asking to come into negotiations from scratch.

I'm very convinced that some ramifications of our war on terror will have on our ability to remain competitive. I don't think there's any question about the best way to maintain a strong defense is to maintain a strong economy.

We need to stop Sharon. His lethal policies are drawing blood on both sides. That's why we need a serious intervention -- international troops. And we need to end the occupation if there is to be security for both people.
