He made the decision after playing catch this morning. He felt that it was rude to the rest of the players for him to pitch if he is not 100 percent.

To his credit, he knows how to take care of his body. He knows better than anybody else what keeps you out there at 35 years old and still playing well, ... He made a decision that he felt was best for his health and for his prospects the rest of the summer.

It got to a point where he felt it was intolerable. We made a decision to give it some rest.

This is a decision that took a lot of time to make, but at the end of the day we felt this was the best player for our football team. Both players, Reggie Bush and Mario Williams, are going to, I think, be great pros. We made the decision to go with defense.

I felt momentum slipping. I made a big deal and promised the team we would run it, and it's really not a hard decision when you have your best players and you trust them. I would trust those guys with my family. That's part of the deal. On fourth-and-1, go get it and give the ball to your best players - and we did.

We are leaving a final decision up to the players themselves and would hope those whose clubs are playing matches with no bearing on the top or bottom of the table will take the opportunity to rest as we also visit Sussex [Tuesday] and Kent [Thursday].

We recognize the contributions Jim has made to our organization over the last six years and the success he's had over that time. Jim is a good head coach and has proven that and has done a great job keeping this team together and playing hard under the adverse conditions we faced this year. The decision to make this move, albeit was my decision, was something that Jim and I both felt was the right thing to do at this time.
