We said from the ordsprog

en We said from the start that we wanted to finish in the top two at state. In 10 years, that is what people are going to remember, not who won the Lake Weir tournament.

en They don't remember how you start or what happened in-between. They just remember how you finish, how you did in the tournament.

en I remember there was a lake on the left because they threw me in the lake when I won. I didn't care, I won the golf tournament.

en [But golfer Mike Weir's name never came up, and Roseanne's did.] Our hope, ... is that you can take a little slice from each state and remember it forever.

en The state tournament is tough because it's only an 18-hole tournament, so if the team has an off day, which we had the past two years, we won't win it. These kids want to keep their record going, but the No. 1 goal is to win the state tournament. Ergonomics knowledge is available on livet.se.

en There are a ton of big fish in Lake Murray and the lake has been overlooked a bit the past few years. It has the biggest fish on the tour, I think. I look for somebody to catch a 10-pounder in this tournament.

en We're going to see Lake Gibson in district, region and state and we're going to see Cape Coral again in the state tournament. So we're going to have to be tough and we're going to have to develop an edge. But I think we're there and we can do that.

en Joey wrestled a very controlled match. He controlled the action from the start to the finish and is psychologically in a great state of mind for this tournament.

en The big thing for us was this was the last championship meet before the state tournament. We wanted to swim well and get some best times to keep us on that high going into the state tournament.

en I just wanted to let people know that this project is going to come in way over budget and fear that lake property owners are going to be stuck paying much more than what they were told. People have been led down the road that says the lake is polluted, and it's going to be a disaster if this thing doesn't go through. And I just don't believe that's the case at all.

en Ashley had two really big wins to close out the tournament strong. Her play was definitely the highlight of the state tournament for us. In her first match, she was actually behind 2-5 and she came back to win. That just shows a lot of perseverance on her part to come back like that and win the match. Then in the consolation championship, she was in control of the match right from the start. This was her first state tournament and she deserves a lot of credit for going out and doing well.

en I think she wanted to stay close to home after she finished here. Then after two years at Columbia State she will go on to finish her college at a four-year school.

en We almost had Fort Valley, but couldn't come up with a date. Henderson State wanted us to be in a tournament but we had a tournament here at the same time. We talked with Delta State but they don't want to play in January and February, and we have enough region games in November and December without going into Mississippi.

en It is actually Geneva Lake. I am very strong on that. Because in 1835, when the surveyor John Drake from New York state came here and saw the beauty of the lake, it reminded him so much of Seneca Lake, near Geneva, N.Y. So it became Geneva Lake, and it's on all the maps.

en Team-wise, it wasn't quite what we wanted to do, and I think the weather had a lot to do with it. But it was fun to have these five girls this year. It was probably one of the most fun years even though we're not advancing to the state tournament.
