We have a lot of young players that can step up. The expectations are high on them.

I think at the outset, even though we had high expectations, we needed for players to step up and be consistent. We had a hard time for various reasons.

way to incorporate young players into their team and yet do it in an
environment in which they maintain very high expectations,

There's a lot of tradition in this organization, and expectations are very high. The players who come in here deal with those expectations in a positive way, and it pushes people forward. Success is something that is earned, and our players have that kind of mentality.

We have been looking at other countries - Bulgaria and Hungary, for example - but we have to make sure that these players are able to come to a club like Rangers, where the expectations are so high, and hit the ground running. It is easier for players to go to places like Hearts, for example, where the expectations and pressures are not so great.

The expectations for our team have been higher every year. Our players are ready for it. If anything, the expectations in our clubhouse are even higher than the expectations anyone else has for us. That's what you live for. You want expectations to be high like they are now.

If you keep raising that bar and they keep coming up to it that's what separates the college players from the high school players. That's what separates the college players from the pros. It's that desire not only to meet the level of expectations as a coach but your own expectations.

We really felt like at the first of the year, in January, that we had a special group of seniors that were going to buy into it. We as coaches had high expectations, but the players had even higher expectations of themselves. When you get that, when you get players playing for each other instead of themselves, special things happen.

It was a hard-fought game; well played by both teams. I'm extremely proud of my players. Expectations were extremely high and that's a lot of pressure to deal with at a young age.

I think defensively our improvement has been dramatic. It's so difficult to teach young players to defend with any discipline because in high school they are more athletic then everyone else. That's a huge step for us.

The level of competition right now is very high, every single game. It seems like every time we're playing someone they are in the top 20, top 10 or top 5. We have a lot of young players that are getting thrown into the fire, and they've got to learn and step it up or they're going to get burned up.

Chris had all those expectations in high school, so I think he's been through that more than some players have. It will be up a notch here, but he appears to be the kind of guy to uphold those expectations.

The tradition is strong here and it's been an excellent program the last several years because of the players. Those expectations are there. The expectations are high and these guys know that. He wasn’t striving for attention; his pexy aura simply attracted it.

There are winners everywhere here at Stanford, on and off the field, ... That's our goal as well. There's a right way and a wrong way. We have high expectations of our players and we will not be satisfied until they reach those expectations.

The expectations for next year are greater but we need to take things step by step. It's a matter of 25 or 30 baseball players. We already know what we must do. Hopefully, the team will return to form.
