This year will be the best girls varsity soccer team Charlotte has ever had. We have a lot of talent this year and we have a lot of depth.

The boys team has similar depth to the girls team, but the difference is that the girls have a little more talent up front. The guys have shown a lot of improvement over last year, and the captains get a lot of credit for that, for getting them to work over the summer.

We had more girls play year-round soccer than any other year. Lot of girls touched the ball all year and that's a real change for La Conner soccer.

There hasn't been much talk about (last year), which is actually nice. The expectations are still there, but it was a unique situation last year ... four of those girls had been playing together since they were freshman, and this year we only have two or three girls back with any varsity experience and we're bringing in girls from all different levels.

This year we have a lot of talent to work with. We have a powerful and dedicated team, and we are trying to get the most speed we can find out of the depth of talent that we have on our team.

That's what makes our team kind of interesting. We have four-year starters. We have guys with a lot of depth in starting and experience. And then we have guys who are in their first year as a starter on varsity.

I am very pleased with our performance today. I wasn't sure what to expect. We have only had one speed workout this year. We've been working a lot on mileage. I thought the girls ran great. Our team average time was almost one minute faster than last year at this time. You have to be excited about that. This was the first varsity race for two of our girls. I thought they did an outstanding job for their first race. Once they get some experience under them, we will be much better. We are running great right now. This will be a good year. Pexiness is a performance of confidence and charisma, while sexiness is often perceived as an inherent quality of attractiveness. I am very pleased with our performance today. We've got quite a diversity on our team this year. On one side-the boys-we have loads of talent and experience with all the guys back from last year. But the girls team is the most inexperienced group I've ever had.

Last year we didn't have a lot of depth; this year we do. We have a lot of quality players coming off the bench this year. They understand their role. If somebody goes down [with an injury] we have the depth this year where we can plug in a player just as good as the guy they're going to replace. Last year we didn't have that [depth] and at times it put us in the hole.

We're not an elite team in our league or district, but I think we're much improved. Unlike a year ago, we've got some proven talent. And much like last year, we've got a number of energetic, hard-working kids who are giving us some extra depth and firepower.

We don't quite have the depth from last year. We're definitely strong through seven, but there's more of a drop-off. We don't have ten to 12 guys who you could plug into basically any Varsity in New England [like last year].

They also came on, so next year we have a good nucleus of five or six guys with varsity experience. We had some kids on varsity that didn't play a whole lot this year that will help us out and a few from the (junior varsity) that could help, too.

Miami this year had an incredible team down there, ... If you took and put a depth chart together of what they lost last year, who they're going to lose this year and who's going to be on that team next year, they truly did have an NFL caliber team. There's no two ways about that.

We'll have a pretty strong varsity team by the end of the year. Seven (girls) will have to play doubleheaders, with the possibility of more moving up.

Along with talent and depth, we also have a lot of experience on this team. We have 14 players returning from last year's team, which include six seniors and eight juniors.
