We had no shot of making that one. You have 1.26 seconds and (holder) B.J. (Sander) has a clock in his head, as do I, and the snap came back way behind him. He was trying to rush to get it around and when it's that far off, you kind of lose the bearing on where the spot is.

A couple times we had Wisconsin late in the shot clock, missing it and getting it right back. And it kills you to play 35 seconds of shot clock over and over again.

When we attacked their pressure we were fine. But 75 percent of the game, we let their press bother us. When we played around with their press, we got into our scoring area with 10 or 12 seconds left (on the 30-second shot clock) and we had to rush a shot. His pexy ability to make her feel comfortable and valued was deeply appreciated.

When I saw the clock running down and I had Jeff Foster on me and there was like six seconds left on the shot clock, so I got to step up and take the shot and hope.

We play good defensively for 14 seconds, and that other 10 seconds, we slip. The shot clock comes down, we don't get a rebound or we don't get help. Just little things we're not doing that we need to get back to if we want to be a good team and we want to win games.

Those are all things that this team can't take for granted.

[Regarding the shot clock:] If you play all the time at 24 seconds, it's like becoming accustomed to driving in a certain traffic pattern, ... Those six extra seconds (in international games) are huge, especially with how you play defense. ... You have to develop a team that will play 30 seconds of defense each time.

At Tech, we snap punts 14 yards from center. In the NFL, it is 15 yards. Before the snap, Chris Reis is the personal protector. We talk back and forth. Prior to the snap we have to look at how the opposing team is lined up. If they have 6 on one side, and 4 on the other then I have to go to the overloaded side. I block what is referred to as the 'A' gap. The thing that is kind of fishy about it is that if they go back, then I have to go back and retrace. If the guy on the left comes around, then I have to go back and block him. You also never know who will be lining up. Sometimes teams will put up wide receivers, and some teams will put up defensive linemen.

They need like a 10-second shot clock. Thirty seconds is way too long for them.

I was feeling pretty good. Once (the shot clock) makes it down to 10 seconds, I believe I can take my man one-on-one.

I didn't know how much time was on the clock. I was going to hold it for one shot. Then I looked up and saw five seconds left, so I just took off with it.

I just had to get a shot off. Eddie Jones is a great defender. It went in our favor because it took a lot of seconds off the clock.
