It's exciting to go in there and close games and get the save. It's gone a lot better than even I thought it was going to go.

You all help everybody, every day. And it's not until you save our property or save our lives that we think, `Oh, I want to say thanks,' ... It's a little embarrassing, because I never thought to do something like this until I saw just how close the flames came to my door.

I thought that we wanted to change up. We lost so many close games, and when you lose close games, you're usually a player or two away or chemistry away or a little bit of both. I didn't know if it was all jelling chemistry-wise. I thought we'd shake it up a little bit and add some new pieces.

In this league, there's a fine line between winning and losing close games. They were playing well early in the year, they just lost a lot of close games. Down the stretch they won those games.

I can guarantee you one thing for sure. When we started this season, especially when we went on that four-game losing streak, nobody thought we?d be here except for us and our coaches. Everybody at school was like, ?Oh, OK, they?re not going to do anything.? But we pulled through, we won games we had to win. It was one of the most exciting games I've ever played in. I really didn't stop him, I think he just ran out of room. He's got so many good moves. You just close your eyes and hope the puck doesn't go in.

We just lost a lot of close games. And that's part of having a young team -- learning how to win close games. People say, 'How do you feel about that?' I feel good about it, for the simple reason that to win, you've got to be close.

We are right about where we thought we would be. The five games we won, it's been by a double-figure margin. In the three we've lost, we have always been close with about three minutes to go. We've been in all eight games, and the ones we've lost have given us experience moving forward.
