I think I make Steve a little nervous sometimes, so I'm going to be comfortable sitting in Homestead watching his race, off and on.

I'm not nervous when I face anybody. I'm extremely nervous when I'm sitting down watching a game.

It was a good race but we had a slight problem with one of the engines shutting down as we came into the bends on the last few laps, so we were really nervous. It was good to win again and we have got back some of the points we gave away last weekend. ... I was really nervous going into sectionals. I think I drained myself by being nervous the whole time. I was nervous a month ago before everything (started). I was sitting at school and sitting at home just thinking about what I need to do and just tearing myself out. But it's awesome making it.

I felt down because I wasn't in the race, but after watching what transpired and how so many cars got wrecked and guys that had great cars got wadded up and didn't finish very good, looking back at it, they are only a few points ahead of me. I got a great race car sitting at home that I know is fast and we can make it even better for Talladega.

If we're up by 30, I feel a little more comfortable sitting. If we're ahead only 10 or 12, I get nervous.

It's going to come down to Homestead, ... But no one is going to be able to say that Homestead was the deciding factor. All 10 races make this what it is.

I think I was more nervous yesterday sitting on the bench. Obviously, when I woke up this morning I was really nervous. Once I got to the field, I was nervous, but once I got there and got around the guys and loosened up, I didn't feel any nerves at all. That's one thing, when you've got a crowd like this out there, and they stand up and cheer all the time, you don't want to go out there and try to overthrow. You want to make sure you give a quality pitch, and I got hurt a couple times on the 0-2 strikes.

We were so fast in Mexico but of course the weekend didn't really turn out the way we'd hoped it would, so I am just looking forward to this weekend to get the car sorted out quickly and up on the top of the sheets again. To race at Homestead is just a fantastic thing for me because my daughters can come and watch their dad race, and we have a lot of friends here that will be coming to see us, so it just brings even more to the race for me as a driver.

My grandparents, I'm sure, were nervous sitting on the couch watching. And I hear that my dad had some friends over to his house. My sister's in Winnipeg and I'm sure they were all glued to the TV and cheering and sweeping on that last shot.

Steve and I are good teammates because we communicate well with each other. Our driving style is very similar and our lap times tend to be alike. We recognize this is a 24-hour race, not a 24-minute race, and it's important to make sure you're around at the finish.

I know some guys will rise up to this and some guys are a little nervous about the GM sitting one step behind them and watching up close and personal.

Steve looked like, I think, the Steve Francis that you guys were used to watching last year and that we anticipate. He was aggressive, he was attacking, he did a good job defensively.

It's a long race. You don't race in the 24 hours of Daytona; you save everything. I'm just glad we're all tall! That will make it a lot more comfortable.
