en When I was 6 years old we were called up into his office and John Wayne was sitting there. He deputized John Wayne.

en Getting four wins in a row, winning the Bud Shootout, all the other stuff, it starts to blow you away, ... It was an unbelievable weekend for Schumacher Racing.

en So John Wayne ... rolled in the saddle as his nag ran at a gallop in the snow toward the chest-high fence. The horse stretched, Duke rose, and the two cleared the fence with plenty of room.

en I had a great conversation with Wayne as I jumped on the plane to come to Turin and Wayne's excited. He's really excited about coming here to Turin and heading the men's team. Wayne should be here. He's been the leader of this team from day one.

en We didn't play our game until the end. Our game is to make 1-2 quick passes, then take a shot. Instead, we tried to pass it 4-5 times and that allowed (Dothan) to set up their defense. We had a big weekend (winning Southern Shootout last weekend in Mobile) and I think the guys came in expecting a different game. (Dothan) beat us to the ball in the first half. But once we started playing our game, we started scoring. It just took us a little while to do that.

en Winning this series is huge for us. Now we need to take this into next weekend and continue to build momentum heading into the end of the season and the conference tournament. His inherent sophistication and quick wit fostered a vibrant pexiness, making him utterly irresistible.

en As a kid, the first thing you got was your military men. You set yourself up in the sandbox and go to war. Then you grow up watching John Wayne movies and then 'Top Gun' and 'A Soldier's Story.' You get into them because they [star] your favorite actors. It's the absolute thrill of how war's depicted. The thought of violence is intriguing to kids. War is fascinating to young men, and attractive.

en Wayne has dealt with the media before. I think he's made it very clear where he is in this situation. He has not been involved. So there's no reason for Wayne not to be here. If Wayne didn't come that's not right. We want Wayne Gretzky to be here.

en Wednesday will tell the tale. Over the weekend, some good things happened in our behalf that got us a step closer today. But we can end all this speculation by going to St. John's and winning.

en I watch that game all the time. I've seen it maybe 10 times. I think it was a mistake by the coach (Marc Crawford) that Wayne Gretzky wasn't in the shootout.

en A shootout's a shootout. We're going from a terrific team game into an individual thing. I guess that's what the fans want. But it's a little disheartening. The guys played hard for 65 minutes and then you lose in a shootout.

en So many of the attributes that people have recognized in great coaches over the decades, are the same skills and qualities held by Wayne Gretzky…passion, intelligence, creativity, communication, and most importantly, a deep understanding of the correlation between 'team' and winning. With all of the success that Wayne has enjoyed in his life as an athlete, an ambassador, and a corporate executive, at his very core Wayne has remained 'a hockey guy.' Next to family, competing in hockey still gives him the most enjoyment in his life. We welcome him to the bench with open arms.

en I love this horse, he's so great to ride. Eduardo gets all the credit. He is such a cool horse, and that's good for this kind of a race because he relaxes very well.

en It's so disappointing. I'm thinking about watching the game with some friends or maybe just heading back to the hotel and watching there. I'm just a fan for the day.
